I had just not smoked anything (except bit of ganj) for a full 7 days. Today i found my self in a tobacco shop buying some more facking fags. I don't understand. I don't like smoking any more, My cravings weren't even that bad. Just saw a shop and instinctifly went in and bought them..I am 19 and I have been smoked for 11 years i believe (terrible i know) . all my friends smoked growing up it just felt normal. Its like because its been so long and it started so young in my life, smoking feels too normal, i can't remember a time when I didn't smoke..Anyway, don't know why im writing this, just feeling pissed off at my self..Time To start again.. Can't bear this shit, wanna be healthy again..So whats your excuse? why are you still puffing?

I'm not smoking ;-)
Smoked for 30 years then quit.

It'll be 8 years on July 1st, doddle :P
Seriously, it's easy to quit.
3 to 5 days of feeling a little bit shitty then it gets easier and easier from then on.

Use nothing, no patches or gum, just do it !

Cigarettes are a very addictive drug.

The nicotine addiction. I smoke my weed with tobacco as well, so that's always something that throws me off of my "cold turkey" plan. A joint of pure weed hits me way too hard, so I have to thin it out with tobacco (gives me my nicotine fix as well I suppose, I just never look at it like that).

It's killing us slowly, and the addiction is so subtle that it almost doesn't feel like one at all. I'm hoping that I stop all tobacco consumption soon, I'm 19 as well but I've only been smoking it for about 4-5 years (since the beginning of high school really).

I had actually quit cold turkey for 6 weeks at one point, then at a party I got a little too drunk and decided I needed a smoke.

Same old routine from there on out.

It's just way too bad ass.

I gave up smoking but I miss it every day - especially after some drinks.

These days EVERYTHING is bad for you. The food is drenched in toxins, pollution in the air, radiation from cell phones and computers (put a fern next to your computer and watch it die slowly)... Just a few examples. Cigarettes are terrible for you in both the short and long term but people smoke for years without seeing any major negative health effects.

CDC said cancer is going to be affecting more than 75% of the population by 2050. It's disgusting how the general public is treated nowadays but it's either come up or get left behind I assume.

I quit at the age of 18.. cancer sticks, Cuban cigars and buddha.

I use to love those damn cigars. I always wanted to own my own humidor and cigars since i was a kid.

I find smoking is a way of removing yourself from a stressful situation, major or minor. Working on the computer, smoke breaks give you a good excuse to remove yourself from the situation for a brief period.

Replace the breaks with water breaks.Seriously, smoking dehydrates you more than anything, and don't think weed dosent either.

If you really want to quit, it's easy. Our whole life we are taught to believe that quitting tobacco is extremely difficult and we believe that shit. I think it's a lie spread by the tobacco manufacturers to stop you from even trying. Every time you go to quit, you feel a slight urge to start again and most people do, because they think that's the start of something terrible to come.

Quitting tobacco is allot like IM, if you want it enough, you won't get it. If you don't want it enough, you'll never get it. Same goes for allot of things in like. You always get what you want, as long as you want it enough.

OP: Plan to quit, knowing that it's piss easy to quit and when you feel the urge, just laugh and remember that it's nothing, you're not going to die without smokes.

champix - it simply makes you forget about smoking (different names in diff countries)

If you really need it or want it (those can be two different things), you won't quit until there's something you need or want more. I smoked for longer than most of you have been alive - but after my daughter was born, I quit a short time later. I need to be around for her more than I need to smoke. Until she was born, I didn't have enough of a reason.

Dude I smoked for 6 months back when I was 19. Started feeling like I could do whatever the f*** I wanted because my internet money started coming good. $5k a month at that time. But since then I've quit, simply because I plan to be on earth a very long time, and I want to feel good & healthy while Im living lavish on earth, I dont want to feel slow & miserable...

For me i guess i dont want it enough. Health is not a good reason for me. Only reason I dislike the fact I smoke is because it is a thing that to a certain extent has control over me through the need and habit.

I don't smoke. Maybe cigarettes has been a part in your life, like right hand can't leave left hand.
