why don't my backlinks index :(

Apparently my backlinks aren't showing up on ahrefs or serpbook. I made a few backlinks at different sites to try out the whole backlinking process. So this is what I think it's like:

Guest Blog Posting

1. Write article about something mostly unrelated to my niche but make a small part of the article about my niche and put the my link there.

2. I put one link directing to my home page there is no anchor text for this one so its like " check out (URL)", another link with an anchor text related to my keyword directing to an internal page. The other few links will be directed to random sites like wiki, something related to my article.

3.Ping the article URL using bulkping.

So that's an example of what i did with one of my backlinks. Did I do anything wrong? I read that social bookmarks help index it faster. My main problem is that it doesn't show up as a backlink for my money site. The problem is the same for my tier 1 web 2.0's. Isn't 1 web 2.0 site considered a backlink? When i type in "site:(mysite)" it shows up on google.

ahrefs and serpbook are private entities. what matters is if google indexes the links. have you checked that?

Even though the links are out there, you may still not be able to see them with Google's free tools or with any other third party tools. It also takes time for these things to be detected. When did you build the links? I would give it some time and as long as you have them built, they will eventually be recognized.

Google the URL of the backlink, if it shows up in the results its indexed.

It takes time for your backlinks to show up on most backlink checkers because they have to update their database in most cases.

Google "site: yourdomain.com" with out quotes.

Unless it's a fresh domain that hasn't been crawled yet, don't worry about it for now.
 
Don't worry about what you can "see". Continue to build backlinks, while building backlinks to your backlinks, and eventually... you'll get them all indexed.
 
Give it some time, google will eventually find it. If you give it more backlinks, you'll give search engines many more ways of finding and indexing your links.
 
I built my links about a week ago. So do they eventually get indexed if i leave them? As long as they don't take months then i don't mind.

So is my method of building backlinks in the original post correct? Do they index eventually if i don't ping backlinks at all?


It's hard to tell if im doing something right or wrong if i'm not getting any results :(

I think a week is too soon. In my experience it has taken quite some time to index some links, months even. I'm not sure if google already picked those links up but ahrefs showed me nothing until the months have passed.

Ping your backlinks, you have nothing to lose and all but gain by doing it.

Just keep building backlinks and stop worrying :) check your keywords once a week so you don't freak out everyday.

Ok thanks! Btw I have read all the posts on your journey, very helpful. Now that i have my motivation back, time to build some backlinks!!!

Keep Building. Links on high PR URL's get found sooner.

Deep links or links on wiki's are very hard to index.

Guest post can take some time as well. If you have a website indexed and your know it is, create or edit a post and add that strong link into it as a reference (if it makes sense).

Build 30k over 4 months... then look up - something would have happened by then.

You have a lot to lose by pinging your backlinks, it doesnt look natural.

If you choose to ping your backlinks with lets say pingler.com remove the .jp, .ru, .cn etc and only use the .com .co.uk and any relevant ping services.

The best way to index your links is to create more backlinks to them. This will help your links get indexed and help keep them indexed.

Also its all about quality of links not quantity.

It probably all depends on the pinging service. The indexing service that I use has never gave me any problems with Google or any penalized sites.
 
if your backlins are indexed by google then that s fine you dont need them to show on ahrefs. i personnaly block ahref and majestic seo from seeing my backlinks through htaccess so that my competitors wont look at my backlinks.
