Why do people sell SEO services?

Do what you love ;)

Do you enjoy SEO? Do you like to outrank the competition and get a sense of pride from it?

Or do you like to answer phones, process orders and ship stuff out all day?

Its pretty hard to do both.

Because selling SEO services also has some advantages. Creating a site is like a long time investment and involves high risks, but if you sell service, you got regular income and divide risks with your customers. Also you have larger field for experiments, because you can do something different each time and not for your money. And also your regular expenses divide with your customers.

Not everyone knows about the technicals of SEO, and that's where you need a professional to manage some aspects. For sure you can write some good content and keep money from content writing, but some technical SEO stuff doesn't cost much more than $10-20 and only serves to save you time.

Easy 7 figures a year bro.. that’s why.

Seriously though, wish I had a dollar for every time I’ve read this question over the years, the answer is simple and has been mentioned here numerous times - supply and demand. Profit margins are huge when you reach a certain level of clientele and have become established in the industry.

A great artist can charge a fortune for their work because they’re good at what they do, not many tend to hoard away their creations for themselves, they sell their skills. The same applies for a solid SEO company or any industry really.

Most of you already responded I would add it is Faster and maybe Easier to start locally. You get your first few local clients from your family&friends and/or some people you know that live around. You can even learn on their websites and spend their budget even if it is low until you learn, test, retest and get some serious results. I started 6 years ago, with a minimal fee for a family friend who owned small beauty salon. After 3 months she ranked in the local area she got a nice boost in leads and customers, I used that for experience and just continued to do local and later national SEO.

Starting your own website and ranking it is perfectly ok but you need more time to start and to get first $. Using Client SEO you need some salesmanship and you can get money in front the first day you make a call/close a deal.

I remember your Speed Rank service. I don't know what you do now. But those 150 DA/PA links where from a GSA SER contextuel blast. Your sale thread was good but the price $150 was scammy. Back then I was verifiering that amount every hour with GSA. It was also the last time I bought a service on this forum.

So to respond on the topic starter, the answer is NO. If they are that good in SEO, they should rank on the 100K keywords which makes $5000-10000, and not with responding to other people for a xx-low xxx bucks.

What are you talking about.. GSA? Speed Rank was rented links from the Russian SAPE network, last time I checked GSA didn’t cover that. Speed Rank was so popular and went viral back then, 100s of people ranking almost over night. We were the very first to offer SAPE links publicly to the English markets.. at a time when it was just a whisper amongst people in the know, we’d get the odd thread about it here but no one in the know was willing to speak (with good reason in hindsight). My partner bhw moderator “GoldenGlovez” understood the Russian and was able to fund SAPE (this was hard to begin with). He still runs it here, many others copied us soon after we opened.. still plenty of sellers pushing them now when I look at the market place, they’re nowhere near as powerful as what they were back then, if at all.

No idea where you got GSA from though.. although the profit margins were nice there was nothing scammy about the Speed Rank thread. It literally helped people make millions including ourselves, back then it was as easy as firing a few 100 sape links at a shit site and you’d soon be ranking. It took off over night because of that, we gave people access to a service they couldn’t get access to, no scamming involved. We set in motion what was one of the craziest (and fun) 6-12 months in SEO, go back to the Speed Rank thread (it’s still here).. read through the first load of pages you’ll see SEO history, no GSA included.
