Why not do both? Both supplement each other - income and eperience wise.

Why are there Wholesalers, when they could just sell it to the customer? Because it's simpler, and not so expensive to manage.

why cant teachers not able to become scientist, Doctor, Engineer etc.. when they are still make their students as engineer, doctor and scientist???

Some people just do it to make a little extra money on the side to use it for future ventures. I use to sell services here as i had team of guys working for me in house, lets suppose i am running 50 affiliate website i will not be building links on each one of them every day hence i have guys sitting doing nothing why not utilize them and the time i waiting for the links i built for my website to show movement in serp's. Also i could easily cut down expense on my PBN, buy proxies, try new methods and advertising platforms from the extra cash i got coming from selling seo services.

It's much easier to provide a template service to the point where it is automated than to constantly rank, get traffic, and make money. Of course the business side of things are still competitive.

Like other said, this is the whole idea behind "gurus." They figured "Why spend time making money when I can teach people to make money." This idea is extremely effective in terms of money. When you make a personal connection with your customers, they tend to buy almost anything. It's a part of the 48 power of law and you'll see it in effect everywhere you go.

Ranking the own site doesn't give much happiness than ranking someone else website. And the feedback they give you will double the happiness ;)

Ultimately its a business decision. Which is more profitable, to rank your own site or rank for customers. SEO takes alot of money and time before you can reap rewards. And to make it worse, Google can make an update and all your investments are gone in blink of an eye.
Love the quote in your sig :)

It is very simple. Selling a service, there is no risk whatsoever, and income is immediate- you do your math, you know the expenses, you charge a certain sum of money, and the profit is very predictable. People will always look for a quick way to the top of rankings, and buy any kind of services from someone who has many posts or reputation.
In the worst possible scenario, people won't buy from you. OK then, you wasted some pennies for a sales thread and a few hours of time...

On the other hand, ranking your own website is unpredictable in everything-you do not know whether it will eventually rank, you do not know when, how much you will eventually make, you know nothing :).

Because this is part of net advertisement and today its must necessary for traffics

May be a stupid question, but I really wonder about that. Why does someone that can rank sites sell SEO services instead of buying or creating sites himself and ranking them to keep the whole profit?
The answer may shock you, but the answer is to MAKE MONEY instantly. They don't have to wait for the magic to happen or invest their time without getting anything back for X months. And SEO services don't guarantee anything. They might never get the results for clients.

i like when people use words like "native ads, publications, content marketing, outreach" etc etc

Its a GUEST POST....doesnt matter what you call it

Well let's be honest, the majority of them don't rank shit.

Then there is the fact that who says people don't rank their own sites, as well as selling SEO services. To make different income streams.

Sometimes is easier to escalate a service than the whole site building and positioning process.

Because the SEO services offered by most sellers are just part of the solution.
I create content personally (thousands of words a day)
I understand links very well - but use tools and outsourcing for most of them.

People tend to specialise, and have lots of excess time and resource for whatever they specialise in.
For example, my real world business I copyright at £525 ($600) a day - but I often buy tools, links or outsource link creation - though I know exactly what I want from links, and only buy ones that fit my very tight criteria.
If I use a tool or buy a link, it's been well thought out, but even as an SEO of 22 years I buy from other SEO's and sell to businesses as well.

I understand the question, the short answer is "people specialise" and SEO needs quite a few disciplines.

That said IMO some products are crap. Cheap links surrounded by thin/poor/unreadable content on already spam filled websites.

Depends what you are good at.

:)

I sell SEO as a service, because that's my business model. I have no interest in selling the products or services that my clients do. Running a successful business is about more than rankings. There's the stock/inventory control or service knowledge, business administration, infrastructure, HR, client/customer relationship management etc. etc. Whilst I do have a few other sites/business interests, it would take me a huge amount of time, resource and expertise to be able to replicate the businesses that my clients have. Therefore, selling my skills as a service, allows me to help these businesses and fund me in exploring the things that truly do interest and excite me :-)

It's just another market, another source to make money.
Sadly most sellers don't have actual SEO knowledge.
