Why Do I See My Site First on Google, but Nobody Else Does?

I just used HideMyAss to so searches on Google and Yahoo!... and I checked my SERPS using this SERPS position checker

keyword phrase #1: #22 on Google, #3 on Yahoo, #20 using the SERPS tool

keyword phrase #2: #18 on Google, #7 on Yahoo, #16 using the SERPS tool

keyword phrase #3: #16 on Google, #3 on Yahoo, #15 using the SERPS tool

keyword phrase #4: #11 on Google, #3 on Yahoo, #11 using the SERPS tool

Is there anything that can be done to see consistent results across the board?

I use chorme for web browsing (with my google account logged in) and use IE to check my rankings where no google account is logged it.

SERPS checkers don't work. Maybe I should code mine? Still manual checking is good.

I had one of mine do that recently, just showed up #1 locally, no where else
(usually was around #50 for this term)
Took a screen shot because no one believed me...

Yeah.. Happened to me before I was like HOLF %^$&%!!!! and then ohhh...

google drops web beacons/flash cookies/LSO on your browser every time you login to a google "service"...this is how they remember

ccleaner, etc do not delete these cookies, but this firefox addon does

betterprivacy
Code:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6623/

same thing had happened to me some months back. later I sorted out the problem.
here is the solution:
clean the cookies, history and search once again.
You better use internet explorer browser cleaning history and cookies.

Didn't read the thread, but from the title, I suggest turning off personalized search on top left of Google results..

Well your title tells the clear story, As you are keep on opening your website in the same IP, Google gives preference to your website, Google thinks that this website you want, that's why it gives your website in the front. . If you want to see the exact position of your website, Just go to
Code:
hidemyass.com
and use google.com or google.uk whatever and try. .

Hope you got my point. .

Thanks

Exactly !

try iwebtool.com

i always use that to check where my website is ranked

it checks all the data centers not just one

its great not even noobs have had this issue. we have alllll been there i think.
im luck enough to have dsl and able to hijack a neighbors dsl.
i use firefox to work and then i clean out my LSO and IE cookies, swap i.p's (or reboot) and check my work... this includes google rankings.
