Here is a simple key to check any company support system before choosing them.
First open a ticket with your some provider you like but make sure that you also check their company details, registration date, whois details is not hidden,etc and then If they qualify it then ask any question related to web hosting and check their response time. Again after few days ask another question and compare response time.
Also monitor their server for 1 week, Check their billing support system because of many of do not provide billing support on holidays or take 2 or 3 days to reply to your query.
Once they pass this quality then chose them.
