I have seen so many threads out there with guys looking for cheap web hosting that it's becoming crazy, all the same thing over and over again, so I would just like to distinguish couple of things for all of you looking for cheap web hosting. This text is mostly for rookie members just starting out and looking for extremely cheap hosting for start. This is not for guys who are intentionally purchasing hosting for $1 for PBN and SEO. That's something different. This is for rookies starting out their first websites. I'm saying this from point of being a webmaster and rookie years ago. A complete newbie not knowing how to upload files to setup a website via FTP. I've been there. We all did. So I know how it feels to be at very start not knowing anything. Hopefully this will help you to sort some things out in your head when it comes to hosting. Private use If you are looking for hosting for your blog where you will write your own stories or post your puppy pics just use social networks or free blogs. If you have no intention of monetizing it just go with free blogs such as blogspot or wordpress or whatever I don't see why would you need hosting company in that case at all. Some free platforms even offer pointing your domain name over there so that's even better. Business use (intent making money) First of all if you are looking to start a business with cheap web hosting or free hosting with no support or with penny hosting just don't do it. Just wait some time, gather some funds (hosting for start is very affordable nowadays) for $2-5 or so you can get pretty decent monthly hosting. Especially if you are rookie just starting out and you have no idea about hosting or anything related you are going to need quality support. Not just hardware. You want hardware? Just go and by dedicated server. Sure, it can be found cheap in some cases. What are you going to do with it? What are you going to install? What happens during DDOS? What happens on crashes? Do you have backup? Do you know how to handle it? I've been there years ago, not so cool. It will be even harder for you to run a business with no support from hosting provider whatsoever. You need to understand that web hosting is foundation of your entire online business. I simply can not stress this enough how important this is. Next, you are here at BHW and as you have probably noticed, there is a marketplace. Why are you asking about some Xysyxzy hosting out there when there are dozens of providers right there. Shared hosting, VPS hosting, dedicated servers, Windows VPS, Cloud hosting, just everything that you can think of is there. High quality proven providers, established and working for years, with a lot of member reviews from this very forum. All of it right there in marketplace section. Each one of hosting providers has it's features and benefits to fit everyone's hosting needs. Support, support, support! This is one of the most important factors for everyone that is starting out. Actually this is most important factor. Ask yourself what are you going to do when you are stuck on basic things. You are left alone if you have no assistance during basic things. Once when you get to more advanced use you might get up on your own managed dedicated servers, but now you are just on very start. Will you know how to setup simple things as PHP settings and tweaks? Modules? Memory limits? Just a simple tweaks that everyone at some point gets stuck with. Yes. This sounds funny to some of the users but to someone it's like hacking NSA once when memory limit is set properly. Yup. You need quality support and you do not need hardware and 64 cores 128GB of ram with 3500 users on it. This means nothing to you if you get 0.01% out of it and you are limited hard. Also, and what's the use of hardware if you don't use it properly or your script is not running as it should and there is no one to help you tweak basic settings. To someone it's basic for you at very start it's advanced and complicated as hell. Even if there is support, in some cases support contact you 2 weeks later with no solution. You need quality support especially if you are starting out. You need help while starting out and support is there to help you. Cheap unreliable hosting with lack of support will give you nothing but headaches and just enough will to quit doing whatever your goal was to do at first.
