Hello BHW! Im owning a porn directory website and I was wondering:
Should I use whitehat or blackhat SEO to rank my site on google?
I currently have a DA of 7 with some link exchanges and few paid backlinks.
The organic traffic is pretty low but I'm getting some visit using social medias.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Forgot to tell in my first message but its the first time Im doing SEO (also first website of my life)
Im really motivated to make this project work so even if you have long term advices I will use them!

You can't really do only white hat or black hat. It just doesn't work like that.
Writing good content is whitehat, as well as optimizing speed and improving UI/UX.
Any link exchange or link building is considered blackhat (the dry definition), so everything you do is a mix of both.

Everything we do today that is SEO is infact blackhat. Everyone buys links and Google is against it.

You shouldn't be looking at SEO from white, black or green hat. You should looking at what you can do to make your site rank while attracting the least amount of suspicion from Google.

In your case, I'll say buy some more links and continue with your social media promotion. Porn sites usually start to rank once they are popular because many people search for them directly.

It can take time to rank as the niche is difficult, but quality content, strong backlinks and technical SEO is the best way forward. While Whitehat is safer in the long run, Blackhat strategies can get quick results but are risky. Getting traffic from social media is a good start, you can increase organic traffic by focusing on your backlink profile!

Everyone builds links, and Google knows it. The key is to grow without drawing too much attention. Keep building good links and stay active on social media. Once people start searching for your site directly, rankings will follow

The method depends on your budget and time . Black hat is more expensive but it's faster than white ones

If you are looking for a long solution, I recommend you white ways . For now just get some related guest posts or niche edits

It is recommended to focus on white hat SEO first. Black hat SEO usually doesn't last long—even if it succeeds, it may only last for a few months, or at best, one to two years. Moreover, it is becoming increasingly difficult as Google's algorithm updates become stricter. Google releases core updates two to four times a year, with minor updates happening every few days.

Nowadays, those who succeed with black hat SEO are already highly skilled in white hat SEO. You need to understand all the essential concepts first before you can analyze and exploit Google's algorithm effectively. It's no longer an era where beginners can simply throw in some low-quality tactics and expect to rank.

If you're looking for long-term business growth, white hat SEO is the way to go. But if your goal is short-term gains, then black hat SEO might be an option—though the chances of success are very low.

You should focus on White Hat SEO with high-quality, human-written content optimized for EEAT (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness). Prioritize:

  1. On-Page SEO – Keyword optimization, meta tags, headings, internal linking.
  2. Technical SEO – Fast loading speed, mobile-friendliness, structured data.
  3. Off-Page SEO – High-quality backlinks from authority sites.
  4. Content SEO – Unique, engaging, and human-like content (Google-safe).

Since you run a guest post website, link-building and high-quality content should be your main focus.

Even in the adult niche, I’d recommend sticking to white hat SEO, especially since you’re committed to long-term growth. While black hat tactics might bring short-term spikes, they also carry high risks of penalties, deindexing, or getting stuck in an endless cycle of rebuilding lost rankings.

You can use the same fundamental SEO strategies as in any other niche—focus on high-quality content, on-page optimization, and authoritative backlinks. Since it’s your first website and first experience with SEO, I’d suggest learning as much as possible about keyword research, content clustering, and technical SEO so you can build a strong foundation.
