Hi all,

I have some questions regarding niche keyword picking:
I use Micro Niche Finder to look for "good" keywords.

Keyword A: about 100k searches a month, high competition, lot of longtail, ex.: tools
Keyword B: about 30k searches a month, medium competition, medium longtail, ex.: red tools
Keyword C: about 5k searches a month, low competition, no longtail, ex.: useful red tools

Now my question is: which type of keyword to choose and which type of website to build, which domain name?

For low competion keywords it's quite easy to rank well with the keyphrase as domain name. But it is worth to setup an extra domain for this type C keyword with no longtail? It is a better option for C keywords to setup an 1page-blog on blogspot or similar pages with keyword as subdomain?

For type B keywords: should I pick red-tools.com as domain, setup wordpress and create articles for each long tail keyword?

Type A: I suppose these keywords should be avoided?

Which setup do you prefer regarding fast results, linkbuilding efforts, long tail potential, longterm potential. How many time to spend/income do you plan approximately for such a nich keyword project?

Long tail kw is: "useful red tools"
Short tail kw is: "tools"

Hi,

it's clear for me what is long and short tail, maybe I didn't formulate my questions well.

Summarized I wanted to get some opinions about which ways are used most:

- 1 Long tail kw with kw in domain, single page
- Medium tail kw in domain, more long tail "article pages" with wordpress or other CMS
- 1 Long tail kw as subdomain on blogspot or similar hosters
- Medium tail kw as subdomain with some long tail articles
- Single web 2.0 page on free hosters for long tail kw
- Other ways...

It's easy to say "pick a niche kw and build a website", there are so many possible ways. Maybe some people could share some experience in this area.
