1. Wordpress (The Coolest And Well known on the Web)
2. Blogger (good for adsense)
3. Blog.com ( great Themes)

This is key: you don't want to try and rank a site with ".wordpress.com" in it! Use your own hosting and domain if you are going to use WP!

My vote also goes with what the guys above me voted. First started out on Blogger.com 3 years ago but once I found out about self hosted WP blogs theres been no looking back, and also not many competitors to rival them. The sheer amount of plugins and features makes WP the king of blogging CMS's

There is simply no comparison. WordPress rules. Not only in the coding of the platform but the HUUUUUUGGGGGEEE support network out there and it just keeps getting better and better.

I left Joomla 3 years ago and have been so happy not answering questions from clients about how to do this or that with the Joomla backend. WP is a cinch for most clients and if you use a theme from Woothemes, they offer the ability to lock out the clients from screwing around with theme settings so it reduces client care calls even more.

Start with Blogger.com.
When you earn some bucks, buy a domain name, an hosting, read a wp guide and install WP with few plugin.

Wp is the best, but it's difficult to start with if you don't know nothing about html and php.

PS: i'm a webmaster from 1994.
