Hey guys, which web host do you recommend for a super fast managed Wordpress service?

Currently I have been looking at Getflywheel but their cheapest plan is $15/mo which is quite high for me. Plus they have a 5000 visitors/mo cap on that plan. Although they ignore the spider/bot/crawls and only count per 24 hr per unique IP as 1 visit, I might be asked to upgrade to the next higher plan in a few months. They moved my site to a demo url, to allow me to test, and I'm impressed by the speed.

I get about 4000 visitors (sessions in Google Analytics) each month. My Wordpress site has a heavy theme and has a first byte load time of about 3-5 seconds. I wish I can bring it down to <1 second.
I have used all kinds of caching plugins and tried CDN like cloudflare but it didn't change much. The first Byte time load is constant 3-5 seconds.
I have hosted other sites on the same host and they load quickly (~1 second wait time). Therefore I know my site loads slowly because its a WP w/ a tough theme. (I cannot change the theme, I like it and I need it.)
I just need a fast host.

I have also checked Media Temple. They will allow me to host 2 websites with a cap of 400,000 total monthly page views for $13/mo (using coupon).

Any suggestions? What do ya'll use to host Wordpress sites?

PS: I'm currently on a shared web host that gives me 256 MB ram and some other cool stuffs lol. I have seen about 3 hours downtime in the last 14 months, and that was when they were migrating. So far I am really satisfied with their good tech support. They are NOT a slow host. It's just that my own website is resource heavy.

Well i think the first step is to get off the shared hosting and get a VPS server. Get it with pure SSD drives and not just a cache along with RAID 10 for redundancy and added performance. That's probably the only thing you can do at this point that might make make a difference if you've already gone the CDN route and optimized your wordpress as much as possible. Take a look at what we offer and compare it, www.iozoom.com.

If you're going to get a VPS server, I would recommend a Godaddy Linux w/cPanel VPS. I have multiple sites hosted on one and my wordpress sites are video sites. The load time is under 3 seconds.

Thanks, but that costs ~ $25/mo which is out of my budget at this time. I need some trustworthy and fast Wordpress host.
I am familiar with cPanel however I have never managed my own VPS yet so I really don't know if that's something I will be able to do properly.
That's the reason I am looking into managed Wordpress hosting.

    (My search is still on)

Also have a look at WPEngine and compare it with Getflywheel.

I personally don't find it necessary to host my Wordpress websites on a host that markets itself as a Wordpress host. Usually you'll overpay with limited resources. Instead, I'd take a VPS, test it, and ask for a refund if it isn't up to my standards.

    Check the configuration first..
You can search on market place too.. few startups are also doing well.
I'm using 2 services right now, but it will be too early for me to recommend.
    Abelohost is also good.

If you're looking for REALLY cheap, check out HawkHost.

If you have some knowledge about setting up Apache/MySQL check out digital ocean, you can spin up a SSD VPS for $5/month.

EDIT ** Sorry I did not see where you said you didn't have any experience with VPS.

There's tons of cheap hosts out there. Just keep in mind that you get what you pay for!

Linux may not be for you then, you may want to go with a standard windows VPS. The reason I am saying VPS is because your visitors may increase, and the weight (size) of your website most likely will. Try cheapwindowsvps or 1and1. 1and1 has a decent plan for 9.99/month.

Thank you everyone! I almost paid for a managed hosting but found out from a blog somewhere that Wordpress SEO by Yoast increases first byte time when "force rewrite titles" is checked.

I unchecked it and yay! Although my site isn't fast as bullet, it is not slow anymore like it used to be. The average full webpage load time is about 3-4 sec now. Wait time ~ 1.5 sec. I can live with that for now.

I appreciate everyone who came up with suggestions.

Well actually the "first byte" may very by network/location and server specifications . You usually should have up to 1sec max the only case when you can have slightly increased first byte is with cloudflare where the first byte will be higher but on average the website will load faster.

The most rated web host is none other than Siteground. It does not only provide true user gratification but also a pile of features that can be adjusted according to your requirement. Hosting an average of million domains and above thousand servers they have won the seat undoubtedly. Try that out and hope it will be better than your expectations! :D

Use any good shared SSD hosting provider.
For 4000 visitors a month spending $13/month on hosting only is too much.
I use namecheap hosting $38.88/year 20GB SSD Disk Space, up to 3 websites.
Also some people like KVC webhost which provides SSD hosting too.
SSD hosting makes your website load faster, I have tested it with mine.

Digital ocean is the best for cheap, but you REALLY have to learn or find some easy guides and use serverpilot. Takes 1 night of learning and you have more power and speed than any of these shared hosting plans.
