Which Google penalty has caused you more damage?

I listen to a lot about Google penalyzing people. Im in the BH SEO biz since 2005 and just twice I had major setbacks. People always come to me with a poor argument: you're into Adult sites so lots of rules do not apply. BS!

Question is? Have you ever lost money or a site by crossing the BH lines too many times?

Sometimes I see idiots, pseudo IM gurus just trying to scare newbies and avoid more competition.

Whats your thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Google has never pointed me rot links to harm my sites. Competitors did.

Penguin 1.0 almost put me out of the game. With every update since then I seem to have gained or not been affected.
