Where's The Best Place To Buy Domains With PR?

I used the search but couldn't really find what I'm looking for. I have a few questions:

1 - Where's the best place (price, quality, etc) to buy domains that already have PR?

2 - I've heard that when you re-register someone else's domains you might get some penalized by google against ranking your site (or counting it's links, etc.), have any of you found this to be true?

3 - If you register a domain with PR it obviously already has backlinks, so (as long as those backlinks are changed / deleted), the PR should stick, correct? Do you guys have any tricks for finding whether the sites backlinks will mostlikely stay up BEFORE buying the domain? I ask because most people deep link, not just link directly to the domain.

4 - If a domain is, let's say, 4 years old (from when it was originally registered - but brand new to you), would you think it's safe to use Scrapebox on it as if you owned it from the start date?

In case that's not too clear, most people agree that you don't want to go nuts with Scrapebox on a brand new site, however if the site has been in existence for years (but brand new to you), do you think you will be penalized by google for blasting it as you would your sites that are organically "aged"?

I recently bought a domain with PR4. Set it up on my host and now am looking at a big fat zero. Not happy at all. uch:

i have heard mixed messages about this. some people say theres no point in buying aged domains because google will know immediately that the domain changed hands and will penalize it. other people say that google does have bots searching WHOIS information to see if domains change hands but it doesnt happen instantaneously. in Backlinks Hydra, Terry Kyle talks a lot about purchasing aged PR domains and he says that as long as you purchase WHOIS Guard IMMEDIATELY after acquiring the domain, like within 1 minute, the google bots wont have a chance to come across the information and will not penalize you.

if all the links are pointing to the home page, youve got nothing to worry about. if the links are pointing to inner pages you will have to recreate the pages after you acquire the domain. one way to do this is to use SEO Spyglass and find out where every backlink is pointing to. another way is to go to archive.org and check out what the site looked like before it got transfered to you, and try to recreate it as much as possible

yes, as long as the domain has been INDEXED for 4 years. if its a high PR domain than it will have been indexed and you should be able to blast it with Scrapebox. if its just a junky domain that someone bought and left parked for 4 years and never bothered to build enough backlinks to get it indexed, google may treat it differently even if its aged

Freshdrop dot net is a comparison engine for domain names with good PR and backlinks, etc.

In my own experience the best way to buy a domain is scrapebox TDNAM scraper tool.

You can find domains for sale in $12 anf you can check backlinks/PR/fake PR/ etc.

It's powerful.

By WHOIS guard are you just talking about private registration that you can add when registering a domain or is it something else entirely? I always use private registration but haven't purchased an aged domain yet to add it to.

Also, I forgot to ask in the first post, once you do buy the domain and it transfers to your hosting, is it essentially useless for back linking to your site if it's hosted on the same IP?

EXAMPLE:

I own gardening.com (Hosted on GoDaddy), so I go and purchase the aged domain gardeningjunk.com and transfer the hosting to GoDaddy. And gardeningjunk.com is PR 4 so I add a few links to different pages on gardening.com.

I have seen this done with completely unrelated domains (i.e. a guy buys schoolbus.com that's PR 4 and puts up a crappy wordpress blog about viagra and links to viagrastuff.com), but I can't tell if he's hosting it on the same IP as his main site.
