Hello Hatters!
To those in the US, I hope you had a good holiday! I'm new to the site, and I have a few things on my mind. So I've started perusing the forums like any newbie should, coming across SEO and IM tutorials on how to set up sites, get traffic, get better search results etc. My question, though stated in the title, is:

Where the hell do I start?
Now I know everyone on here will give me the answer, "Well what are you interested in?" (meaning SEO, Site Flipping, etc) and my answer would be, I don't know! I'm completely knew to everything that this site is. I know nothing about any of these things, and I guess i'm just lost in a sea of knowledge. Is there a general welcoming overview for the different topics of this site, explaining WHAT they are, not how to do it? I don't know if I want to build websites or sell them or anything. I'm completely knew. I know this may seem like rambling, but I hope i'm not the only new person here who has found themselves on this site, without the slightest clue of how to approach it. Should I even be here if I haven't looked into IM before? and if not, where should I start?
I'm interested in IM, but Im unsure if I'm a "blogger". What other options are there?
I know how forums are, so bring on the sarcasm and heat, but hopefully someone replies with at least a half assed explanation to how to go about from literally, the very beginning of ones journey.

Thank ya for reading my schpeal!

If you dont know what youre interested in. Just randomly pick one area. try it then decide it suits you or not. If you dont like it then jump into another one.

Thank you, I know how that goes when entering genre specific forums. As my name suggests, i'm a mycologist, and I equate jumping onto this site with my confusion for when I first joined Shroomery. So much info, so much discussion. Just hard to pinpoint the areas to begin at, despite the numerous Newbies articles. I suppose all I can do is spend time reading, reading, and once again... reading.

Start with amazon or Adsense. It will take 3-6 months before you start earning. Meanwhile keep trying other methods that give faster results.

I found myself in similar situation once when i started. Now i went down the rocky road and learned everything the some-hard way.
What i personally suggest that you do is:
1.Ask yourself what do you want to achieve (not what you are interested in BUT WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE?) - Only learn? Make money? General IM knowledge? Pick up a trick or two? Learn how to generate traffic for your site? etc.
Once you know what you want you want to achieve you will know where to start.

Regarding your question on where to start my answer is: BHW is really a great place to learn A LOT! But, honestly it is overwhelmed with bsh*t topics that will get you confused. Use search bar, navigate on pages of your search results, read every topic, analyze it and from time to time you will come across on few very very good ones.

Im in the office atm and when i get home i will post few topic links here where you can start learning etc.

Thank you I appreciate this. I guess like everyone, making money is the key goal. I've had random websites before and I did programming in high school and what not. So I guess my interests are scattered. I'll keep reading and try to define my niche as I go along.

Start https://www.blackhatworld.com/forums/.

Scroll the page until you see the "Money Making" section. There you will see a list of several sub-forums each with it's own title and a short description on WHAT the forum is about.

I'm new to the site, and I have a few things on my mind.

I don't care what you're interested in but tell me what your end goal is. Like buying a Ferrari or having a trip to Thailand with Mia Khalifa. Tell me what are those few things you have in your mind.

It'd be great if you can tell your age/country/education.

Welcome to BHW!

You're welcome to the blackhat world, just stay close to the forum at all the time, you'll learn alot and have an exciting experience.

If you want make money, well, let me tell you, everyone wants.
If you like digital marketing, if you will not give up and your dream is working with a laptop with no boss, stay.
But most of people give up because is not easy.
Good luck.

Hehe, similar situation as I were in 2 years ago.
When it comes to programming I found that if you are not good at it don't even try to make some decent money with it. There are sh*t tons of decent and mediocre codes out there. Of course, you can start learning and practicing again and when you reach level of skill you will start making money...still, not my suggestion.

Try to define niche, as you said, try some starters things like writing articles, maybe do some scraping jobs in the meantime to keep some money floating around.
In the meantime, test everything you can find, analyze data, learn learn and learn all the time, and in few months you will start to get a grip of what you can do online.

Btw, don't take everything you read at BHW for granted. e.g. you saw someone writing things like 'this way you can earn 100$ a day just do these things etc'...Most of topics like that are just some kind of advertisement etc. However, there are journey and method threads that really work - just remember you need to fully understand some method and always but ALWAYS implement some twists on em.

I wish i could be of more help but Im low on time atm.

thanks SF, my end goal is passive income. I know it doesn't start like that, but really, it's what I've always been about. I like working minimum hours, for maximum profit. (as i'm sure everyone would) If I had to put a number on it, I'd like to make over $100k a year, working only a few days a month, within the next 3 years. My education as of now is only a high school diploma. I may be overly confident, but i'd say i'm quite intelligent. I'm very self educated. My goals for education are getting my PhD in Mycology by the time im 30, I'm 22 now. I reside in the united states.

Confidence is never bad to have. Even a lot of it! But remember this golden rule: If you wish to make money online, you will have to work your ass off. And when i say work your ass off im not talking about 1-2 hours per day of hard and smart work, im talking about 10-16h per day until you start generating some passive income. And once you do, you will need to work even more. Ofc, money will get only better and better but still....If someone here says they only spent 1-2 hours few days a week and got rich online THEY ARE LYING!

Just start from "make money" section. You can choose your way of making money online.

10-16 hrs. a day... damn, but it's worth it. IM is such an interesting career. It's not the time commitment that's daunting though. It's the possibility that you could lose hundreds or thousands of dollars through failed investments on your journey.
