Where do you look first in a blog ?

Hi all,

So where do you look in a blog on first, like there at the top banners (blackhatworld logo and opposite publicity) or directly in a message little text and big banners ?

Kidding...

I will look at what is prominently seen on it... an image / the title... whatever.

Wait scratch that!

I just checked and after opening 5 blogs, I noticed that I look for and at the title of the first article on it first! Not at the images, not at the banner (if it occupies the entire above-the-fold area, I will see it and scroll down to the title text of the first article...), and not at menu.

Wrong Forum, most of the BHers are Ad blind and they won't look at the images/banners but the information... Hope you get right answer from people who aren't Ad Blind(general users/surfers who doesn't know ABCD of IM or BH)

I also check the title of the first post then the topic of the blog on what is it about or is it accurate to what I need. Ads? What are they loljk.
 
The layout must be designed well (remember most people are reading from left to right) in order to gain attention on some specific areas. But what i do on all websites and blogs i designed is to balance all the elements in order to take advantage of every pixel.

To answer ur questions though, my first look is on the left, no matter what is there banner, text and so on. So focus on the left side.

remember that as humans we usually look at things from the top left to the bottom right, that is how we recognize faces though it happens really fast

If there is an image as attractive as that avatar of yours, I will keep watching it for some time before scrolling away, or doing whatever! :D

Sometimes, an image is worth a billion great words! lol

I look at the article's title first, mostly. If NSFW, I'll look on the images first. :)

obviously it is the title to about what the blog is about
 
I look at the title , but I'm lefthanded so I'm probably doing it backwards

But the answer in on the Norman Nielsen's group website - they have a study on the users' eye patterns that show that people tend to look on the header and first 2 paragraphs closely.
