What's your experience with hiring an appointment setter/sales development rep?

Hey Everyone, I have a research question I would like to ask.... I would love to know your experience hiring an appointment setter or a sales development rep?

If you're also looking to hire one what do you look out for?

Is it a good one or a bad one?

Before you hire them you should have a database of prospects, a product you know those prospects want to buy and your scripts sorted to ensure they ultimately convert, else sales people wont stay long.

The people who are really good and skilled in appointment setting , sales developement , nowadays will do their own thing ( freelancing , referral or affiliate marketing , etc ). So , in my experience if you get to hire any appointment setting , sales developement people , you will get all the " dried left overs " with ineffective skills and you will waste your time and money on them.
Nowadays , internet marketing offers such wide options to make money , that even uneducated housewives with some good skills say in cooking , stitching , etc are making good money from their homes (Youtube ,etc).
And if you are nowadays looking for appointment setting , sales developement people , then you are outdated. Nowdays , businesses do their outreach , marketing in the digital media , integrating automated tools for appointment setting and yes , even brick and mortar shops like barbers , salons are now more and more doing it this way.
