I've gained an interest in developing a YouTube channel and am wondering how much of the SEO knowledge regarding websites/Google can/can't be applied to it.

Please let me know if this is the right section for this question or not.

For example:
  • What is the best way to evaluate a keyword's difficulty on YouTube?
  • Are tools like TubeBuddy and VidIQ actually any good, or just a waste of time/money?
  • What are the video/channel SEO guidelines to optimize videos?
  • Are Google's own Video Content Creator materials enough?
  • Are there guides/guidelines here on the forum for this? Haven't seen any after searching.
  • Other info you might consider relevant.
Thanks!

Video Content Creator materials are important because they will help you to stay on the safe side.

But rankings in youtube are result of view count x retention x channel popularity metrics x ‘keyword stuffing’

It’s possible to keep receiving new views for years with a good channel while it’s really hard to view even 50 first views without an external push.

you can use vlan website to see apps that do seo and get guidence from vlan private facebook room

blastersuite.com

it a art to get to the top , then it a art to stay at the top.

but the apps blastersuite can help aceve a lot.

gd luck.

The only tools you need are VidIQ and OBS.

Treat video description as a blog post ie 500 words, keyword optimized.

Keep keyword at beginning of title or as close to it as you can.

Don't be afraid to purchase views, likes, dislikes, social signals, backlinks, and embeds.
