What type of website do you need built?
The problem i have seen and heard from other clients is that when outsourcing it can be either a good experience or a terrible one (and usually it is a terrible one). So if it is an intense project i would recommend saving more money up and hiring a usa based webmaster

no offense to the bhw freelancer section guys but i like the idea of there being more checks and balances, like the ones provided by the companies mentioned above. Can anyone out there tell me about their actual experiences with any of these companies or similar ones....pros/cons/suggestions?

my site is subscription based thru paypal(part of the current holdup) it has a few related databases, one for customers, one for the resellers, one for the supplies the resellers order to promote the services they sell to the customers.

Not to be a prick, but i cannot count how many times i was taken by indians on RAC or GAF. I never had similar problems with other nationalities, so if this sounds racist, well up to you its my experience over years.

However they never keep their deadline, they always ask money upfront. When something goes wrong they will always try to blame you aswell ! which is even the most ridiculous thing! Just right now i have a dispute with one on freelancer, as he overdraw the timeline by 2 weeks (he set it himself to 6 days) and now tries to put the blame on me.

What happens is the guys stalls the whole project as the money is frozen and you cannot hire somebody new unless you fork out more money, i'm thinking of flying over and smash his head actually..

Anyway if you deal with indians on one of these platforms always adhere to this:

    1. use only the 1st or 2nd with the most best ratings. If you have to pay 50$ more , well so be it.

    2. Clearly mention that coder must stick with deadline, that he can set by himself. If you request a draft for a website, mention that it must be delivered to you 2-3 days after the project was started. If any deadline is over you must warn the coder beforehand and further declare the project as failed immediately after deadline passed. Do not go into any deals where you extend it !

You will many times find people acting as a company there but in fact they have no clue and you give them some info and then they run to somebody else that does the actual job.

    3. They want to communicate out of the PM's of the freelancer system. You can do so but always post the main points in the official PM

Hiring on BHW is the same thing, if not worse. If you hire here only go for people with enuff itrader and do not pay the whole amount upfront. hope that helps

I was one freelancer designer on BHW with rep and iTrader enough ... and what I do is make the job first before receiving payment,,,, though should be 50% up front .....

because I want to make customers comfortable .... but what happens .... from hundreds of my customers are generally satisfied with the results of my work there are also some that they went away without any confirmation of orders canceled

and it has wasted too much of my time and not less than pulhan people just leave ....

i also as freelancer on elance, get freelancer odesk and many more....but BHW is one of the best for any freelancer....

odesk or if your serious one of the phillipines job sites (google them), you can hire someone full time to do the 'grunt work' such as account creation, commenting, promotion, article creation and so on.

I also find the work and communication is better quality than people from other countries

this is the most important thing. never nut never work with a company. hire a pro in its field.
    designer ? hire an designer.
php coder ? hire php coder.
flash programmed ? hire flash programmer.
don't try to buy all in one : "design + programing" . it always give bad result .

    rentacoder / getafreelancer

    @whiteshark

Totally correct, however you may need a php coder and a designer for a customized wp site.. so who to choose?

first you choose a designer ( design the site ) and then a programmer. coder(psd->html) sometimes needed too.
but,an company who has both it is a way to disaster .
company rate is 2/3 of taking the freelancer alone but the value is less 1/10 then a few freelancers together can do.

I've used Odesk for years. I research everybody I've hired as best I could with fair results. The hours always seem to get milked a little bit, but you kinda have to expect that.

To be honest, I've been here only a week and only wish I would have found this place a long time ago. BHW doesn't have the same quality control features in place, but It sure seems as though all the self policing going on should be pretty effective.

Yeah, steer way clear of hindu freelancers, I have been outsourcing for about a year now and more or less all the jobs I haven given to Indian people have been more or less a complete mess.

Right now I have two full time people from the Philippines and they`re far superior. The main problem with hindus is that they really, 100% do not give a ******** about you or the service they provide to you. From ALL the different dealings that I have had with these people, even if the quality have been more or less OK you just see that they really dont care at all. If you need some shit spam bulk link building then I guess they are ok but for anything decent its just nor worth the trouble.

Well its nice to know that some people here are loving Filipino freelancers. I am freelancer too. :)

As far as website development, it depends on what CMS you use. If you need WP and Link Building help. Don't hesitate to contact me. :D

I have only used oDesk and I really like it. For account creation and postings and stuff like that mostly, I fully employed a Filipino lady for half a year awhile back and she still sends me Christmas ecards (-:
