I've been using Studiopress for a while now. Don't get me wrong, they have great themes that are easy to use and fast, but they are a little plain. I feel like I need a change. I was wondering what themes you guys use as I am thinking about changing and would like to make an informed choice as there are thousands of themes out there to choose from. I need one for a blog/news site.

Have a great weekend and thanks in advance for your time,

All the best,
James :)

I guess it depends on the niche you are in. I have a favorite theme for a few different niches?

Did you try Sahifa yet? Lovely theme IMO.

My site's a Sci-Fi news blog. lots of articles, videos, photos etc.

Salient and Avada have nice demos from my pov.

Divi builder it's good and fast also.

If you use Drag and Drop builders like Elementor and Beaver Builder then themes like Astra and OceanWP is the best choice, no matter what niche you are in you can build your website with the builder to match your demands.

If you are not into builders then niche specific popular or new themes from reputed theme publishers will do the trick.

This is interesting, I fucking love Genesis themes. The framework is definitely the quickest I've come across, they have enough child-themes kicking about to work with and - personally - I like their version of columns/bootstrapping the pages. I guess it's one of those things where, if you use it a lot, it becomes second nature.
