what is the single most challenging problem that a noob faces or even an advanced marketer finds difficult to do?
Investment :S? (though you can still go the free way, most people would choose to wait and try to get some money and go into the paid way.)
other than that ofcourse, I cannot go around giving away free money Nobody will help you with the money part, IM is a business and it needs some investment. Atleast most of the ways to make money do
I would say ranking in SE then. If people get softwares on their hands they will just spam away thinking instant ranking and end up in sandbox. And if they dont go doing it too much their ranking would be slow. So really finding a relative amount of work per day etc to rank asap.
For a noob, I think a complete step by step manual on how to create a website, choose keywords worth of trying to rank for, an detailed explanation on how to monetize the site with specific directions on how to get accepted into the various networks as well a detailed step by step explanation on how to do onsite SEO as well as offsite SEO. When I say detailed, I mean every little tiny step explained in the simplest manner possible. I have written company manuals and you can't leave out anything. For one particular project, I even explained how to turn on their computer terminal "on the left side of your computer screen (the thing that looks like a small TV) there is an orange button, push that in and then remove your finger from it" Details, details, details.
I think the biggest problem is that they are confused about what works and what doesn't. Due to this problem, most do not take any kind of action or take little action and quit too soon. I faced the same problems, in the beginning. I think the only way to counter this is - TRY AS MANY THINGS AS YOU CAN and then Stick to whatever works for you. I tried a lot of things on a small scale and noticed that among those things, one thing I did made 2-3 cents everyday in adsense. I scaled that up and now I make over $25 every day with the method. Scaling it up more, will soon hit a constand $50 a day or may be more. So thats the best thing to do, as it has already been said thousands of times, Read, implement, observe and improvise. Another minor problem is investment. The reason why I say its a minor problem, is because you can easily make $20 in 2-3 days by writing articles or making backlinks. Then you can spend that into your little experiments. Hope that helps some Newbs.
The prob could be that you have to burn to learn. I don't think many people are going to give you free specifics. Eg, this specific ad network yields the most $$$. Once you're in it for a while you learn what's best and can relax a little. Just try to be as efficient as possible in your initial efforts. 5-10% of the things you do may work, but they may bring you good cash flow for a while and be worth the effort... Good luck
I coach noobs everyday and the biggest question i get is "Where do I start". Many of them get on every mailing list of every guru telling them that what they are selling is the most important thing to becoming successful in IM. Philgood
1. Where To Start? Even if you DO stumble upon a site like BHW, there's a BAJILLION threads. If you ask for help, you'll get BOMBARDED with people with low post counts who are trying to get a rep OR JrVIPs flaming them to hell for asking. Would YOU trust a sticky that's 5 years old? God forbid you don't find a forum like this... a million gurus promising 5 million a month for pushing a button for 17 dollars. 2. Analysis Paralysis. You find a place like BHW, and you want to try EVERYTHING! But which works? People are just saying "TRY IT AND STICK WITH IT!" But the NEWEST share seems SOOOO MUCH BETTER..... 3. Now that I got all of this pirated software and 5000 e-courses all saying the same thing (they must be right), what do I do with them? 4. SCREW THIS SHIT I GIVE UP! I WROTE ONE ARTICLE AND IT GOT ACCEPTED BUT I MADE NO MONIES! But it's too much like work, so I quit 6 months ago... BUT STILL!
Information overload is in my opinion the biggest culprit. You download everything that you can download or buy all the tools, hoping that you will find the magic wand to create a successful venture. But the truth is, you clutter your biggest asset ( BRAIN ) with all the info and tools you gathered and unknowingly becoming a jack of all trades. Have you ever noticed the successful ones/gurus that they concentrate on one idea at a time? Check out the members/moderators here or even the buy sell section. The successful ones concentrate on 1 and one thing at a time. There might be some rare exceptions but the rule of thumb is "You can only be a master one at a time"!!! Michael Jordan never succeeded playing professional baseball/golf. With that in mind, pick your comfort zone. Is it autoblogging, craigslisting, bulk mailings, social marketing, seo-experting, etc. Look at yourself in the mirror, analyze your desire and your assets, and for goodness sakes GO FOR IT WITH A DEADLINE LIKE YOUR GONNA DIE TOMORROW. MASSIVE INTENSE DESIRE.
