I use Atomic wallet and buy/exchange coins with Changley rather than trade platforms.

Coinbase is certainly not the best, but if you're above the board, you don't really have to worry about their dealings with the government. Crypto in the US is heavily regulated, so I don't think they sell the information to the gov - rather, they have to provide it when asked, and there's a sufficient reason to.

Binance and Atomic are certainly good, but coinbase is decent enough. I'd say go with Binance if you dont trust coinbase

If you want to trade then you need to go on exchange
1. Binance - most trusted exchange
2. Coinbase - it would be on second number reason being, whenever there is parabolic movement, it's down for few hours
& if you need wallet to store bitcoin then go for cold wallet like

Avoid using wallets for buying and selling, try to stick with exchanges.

If you want to buy Bitcoin then only use localbitcoins.com
If you want to sell Bitcoin for fiat currency then only use localbitcoins.com
LocalBitcoins has no middle man, very safe to trade and you can pay below market price in some cases.
There is also the opportunity to make some money by offering to buy small amounts of Bitcoin for a low price because scammers and criminals like to sell their Satoshis as quick as possible without caring about the price too much.
Coinbase and Binance and all other exchanges have super high fees and most of the time you will be forced to pay market price or higher. Also the security of Binance has been questionable the last few years.
Be cautious of "Decentralized Exchanges" as most of the time they are NOT decentralized.
If you need a wallet to store Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, you should always have the coins stored on your local machine with no internet connection and have the wallet encrypted, even better use a hardware wallet that you can remove from your computer and store somewhere safe.
Never keep coins on an exchange.

For buying an selling, you can use something like Coinbase or Bittrex for small amounts. You'll need to store larger amounts safely though so I'd recommend getting a hardware wallet. I went with a ledger.
