What to focus on developing next?

I have a question, if it not an appropriate one, please delete it.

I can code, mainly for windows (C++) and PHP.

As you here have ton of experiences with IM and the Internet what do you think I should focus on next (for fun and less for profit), developing?

- SEO tool
- Game (mobile or windows)
- Windows Tools
- Online services
- Wordpress Plugins
- Security Related.
- Other (your recommendation)

try heading to the JV area, could probably combine your expertise with some ideas out there.

if its just for fun like you said then go for a game if I didn't have bills to pay and programming was purely for fun that's what I would do.

If you looking for developing something new and making money then go for a tool either IM related or not, like risecrisp said you get to focus on developing and they can bring in sales.

For fun, I agree that you should probably try coding a game. If you find it enjoyable enough, and become good at it - obviously it will push you to market your creations as well.

If it's fun for you to do it, and can also return a good income for you, then that's the best of both worlds. No matter what though - just code something!

- SEO tool - If you can be at S4NT0S level and develop something powerful such as GSA Products then really go for it. S4NT0S made over one million of dollars just from BW probably and he also had fun


- Game (mobile or windows) - It depends of your knowledge, there is no point developing SEO tools and other apps like this while developing games. You'll always be at the same level and your skills won't grow up. I suggest you, if you love games, going for this, but only and only if you know what you do. Play smart, even a little game grow you up and make you known anywhere. But again, be careful. I suggest you to change the game (if is just for fun and less money) into "games" term. Look at miniclip, one guy started with some shitty flash games and now he became them with a million dollars company.


- Windows Tools - Not worth it. Its worth it if is about just for fun, but don't expect money at all. These day cross platform is the best thing. It may possible to be wrong btw.


- Online services - This is something which can be done doing another category. For example you can develop a SEO tool while you are a freelancer.


- Wordpress Plugins - If you want to have fun and waste time, go for it.


- Security Relatet - Nope.


- Other (your recommendation) - Do what you want.
