I don't understand. So it looks like it rips off HackForums and BlackHatWorld posts, among other places, and then automatically posts them as articles. I'm at a loss for why someone would go through the trouble of doing this. If BHW used phpBB before the update then it's probably just an auto-phpBB scraper because HackForums also uses phpBB. I'm pretty sure we used a different forum management system though. If this is the case, wouldn't the authors of the website have to manually code a scraper to grab and post BHW articles?

Why go through all this trouble to set this up? It's not even being monetized, there are no ads anywhere. They have a .com domain, (probably) a custom-coded scraper, a set up wordpress with manually linked SQL databases... for what?

I'm thinking it might be a like or follow jacker, but that's about the only reason I'd ever make a site like that. Ideas?

I found the same thing when I looked up my user name. It even has a thread I posted that for some reason was deleted on here. I tried to find anything good on there I could. I can't figure out what the site if for , who owns it, why.. if it is legal... ext.

I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering WHAT IN THE WORLD this is.

Someone please if you know explain

you're retarded if you don't understand why the owner is doing this

Please enlighten me, O' 2 month old, 65 post account.

Don't shitpost, okay? You're contributing nothing to the discussion and feeding your own ego at the expense of my time and yours. Go away.

It could be scraping off of WayBack Machine (https://archive.org/web/) snapshots to gather as many threads as possible. That might be how it got one of your deleted ones.

Scraping content is new to you?
I should have been a bit more clear. I get that it's just a mass-scraping auto-poster, but it's their business model that confuses me. If they're not monetizing, what's the point?

I'm also slightly irked that they were my posts which were scraped. On the other hand, I haven't really written any comprehensive, high-quality guides or other resources so I think I'll survive. :)

How many threads are you going to create?
This isn't a fresh account, and the posting patterns that normal rinse-and-repeat spammer accounts have don't match the ones that my account has, so I think we can rule this out as a spam account. I'm also using my real name. Do you know how many Noah Hawryshko's there are in the world? :p

I'm just bored, to be honest. Thread-wise, I'm being careful not to go too far overboard. Post-wise, I'm making sure to contribute positively to nearly every discussion. You can take a look if you want to.

The only one "retarded" is you with a hate comment just because someone is asking a question. Everyone has to ask questions when they are new to something. Also you give no explanation on what the reason is. Retard.

I figured it was probably doing that I just don't know why. Same thing you are wondering.

There have been countless cases discussed here where top ranking sites have zero quality content. This has been discussed here extensively. So forget about scraper sites worrying about "quality content", they give zero f'ks.

They're monetising it somehow, maybe not directly.

That's why thought they were using a jacker. Are there other methods of indirect monetization? If so, what are they called? I want to research this a little bit more, but BHW search doesn't exactly pull up much when you look for indirect monetization.

I don't know that indirect monetization is actually a technique, I think it's just a consequence of several uses for such scraped sites. Find out what such a site is used for and you'll probably find out how it's being monetized.

It seems its his own site and he is promoting it
same user was banned some time ago from forum
