What the fuck is wrong with Paypal?

It's how they make money. They provide you service so that you could sit at home and make transaction. Of course, it gonna cost for doing so.

That is way I dont do payments via Paypal, not a very good company

lol. Then what do you use to get the money home? :) Yep, that is a very bad company to keep, but there is no alternative! ;) So we use some special threads to tell them how bad they are... they too know how bad they actually are, so to prove that to themselves (that they are bad), they keep scr3wing their users more and more every year without any mercy.

Paypal has at least helped me keep my life going, and that helped when it was required the most (well, many times if not on all occasions). May be there is a delay in getting payment in the bank (many times), and of course PP is taking its (rather huge) share of the money in exchange of a service(!), but then what options do I have that can surpass the advantages and minimizes the disadvantages? Anyway, getting the money into my bank account is what counts. I think of the loss of any other loss incurred and it helps me sleep well too! Don't be disturbed over the losses if you/we can't do any good about it. PP isn't going to listen even to most of the governments around the world, so why worry? Don't keep an eye on the actual rate and you're golden (whatever that means)! :)

You could try Stripe. They are quickly building up a challenge to PayPal (for Merchants at least).

I am really pissed at what is happening right now..I am a resident of India.I receive payments from my clients in dollars. So before transfering to my bank account Paypal converts it into Indian Rupee and then transfers it to the bank account. But the really strange thing is that while receiving payments and converting transfering money to ban account the value of Indian Rupee will be less(exchange rate will be less) ,but while sending the payments to someone the exchange rate will be very high.
This is what happened to me.
I received a payment of $10 today. While transfering the money to bank account the exchange rate is as follows:
$1-Rs 58
So the amount transfered to my account is Rs 580.
I send a payment of $10 to someone. While sending the payment the exchange rate is as follows:
$1-Rs 62
The amount taken from my bank account Rs 620.

Both these transcations happened in a matter of 2 mins.So how are you guys dealing with this problem? Is there somework around for this

That's normal.

Different rate will be for selling and different for buying (from any currency to any currency).

This isn't just PayPal, it is perfectly normal and necessary (it is more complex than just making money, part of it is just risk management)

Either open a USD bank account, or ask your clients to send you payments in rupees.

That's what happens when you use currency. Switch to BitCoins if it suits you better.

Don't all processors charge a processing fee? I've never encountered one that doesn't.

IN MOVIE TRAILER VOICE
Imagine... a world... where no one pays transaction fees.

Hi Santhej,

Kindly rephrase, "They are never right in the first place"

Anyone agrees?

Best Regards,
Commoner
