Hey everyone,

I am new to SEO and trying to understand the right way to start with white hat methods. I have been reading about content, keywords, and backlinks, but it is a bit overwhelming at the beginning.

Right now I am not sure what should be my main focus first, should I spend more time on content, keyword research, or learning on-page SEO basics?

Would really appreciate if you could share how you started and what worked best for you in the early stage!!

On page SEO and specifically keyword and content. These are the base of strong foundation of SEO opimized website.

As a newbie here, I am also trying to figure this out. From what I have learned, starting with keyword research and basic content seems easier, then slowly learning on-page SEO. Still exploring and would love to hear more experiences from others.
 
As a beginner, focus on creating quality content first. Make sure it answers what people are searching for. Then, learn on-page SEO basics like title tags, meta descriptions, and headings. Once that’s solid, move on to keyword research and optimize your content for those keywords. Backlinks come later once you’ve got good content and structure in place. Start simple, then build as you go.
 
Start with keyword research and basic on-page SEO no point writing a masterpiece if no one’s searching for it
Then create genuinely helpful content (think “helpful human,” not “robot with keywords”).
Backlinks? Don’t chase them yet first give people something worth linking to!

If you are just starting, don’t try to learn everything at once that’s what makes it overwhelming. Focus on one thing first: understanding search intent and creating useful content around it. Start by picking a small niche, do basic keyword research to see what people are searching, then create content that clearly answers those queries. While doing that, naturally learn on-page basics like titles, headings, and internal linking they will make more sense in context. Backlinks come later. In the early stage, good content + clear structure + consistency is what builds your foundation.

Honestly, I started with basic keyword research and understanding search intent. Then I worked on clean on-page SEO and simple content. Do not overthink backlinks early. Just focus on helpful posts and consistency, things slowly start making sense with time and testing.

start with keyword research and simple on page seo then focus on writing good helpful content, backlinks can come later.
 
Totally start with keyword research and search intent, then build content around those topics. Get the basics of on-page SEO down as you publish—titles, headings, internal links. Don’t obsess about backlinks yet; early traction often comes from solid content. And keep speed/mobile in check—nice UX helps rankings more than you’d think.
