Hi everyone!

I have some questions regarding a web page I am "developing" for my business. The core idea is creating a page from where people can book different apartments and services.

I am by no means tech sawy and I have been using Wix.com for some planning and visualization. I have been wondering; what is the best program/way to make our customers able to book from our site, even maybe the original service provider might have their own booking platform with the lowest cost possible? Our revenue will be comission based. Or should I consider just using affiliate links from our page?

I'll also appreciate opinions on should I keep using WIX or pay someone to do it?

Thanks in advance for all the answers and hope my questions make any sense!

I'm not an expert of web design or construction, but it sounds like you want to build a site like kayak, tripadvisor, etc.

From what I know of how these sites work, they run based upon the APIs and maybe some scraping or a relationship of a degree with hotels/flights, etc.

The booking technical backend is quite simple would be worth either finding an off the shelf bit of code for your website or getting a cheap dev to put that together quickly.

Wix probably won't be anywhere near ready for this kind of setup. It all comes down to how the websites work and the processes and relations between your "website" and the application behind it powering the machine if you will. You'll need to pay someone a decent amount to set up a backend that can work with the hotels, APIs, etc to display the prices; then spend a decent sum getting a solid looking, functioning and designed website; then it's time to market it.

I'm sure someone on these forums knows how to put this together, but I don't feel wix will work and you will need to investigate quite a lot as there is a little to it.
