Hello,

I’ve already found lots of useful information on the forum.

Currently, I am struggling with processing payment for my online store.

Short background
I used to use Stripe and PayPal to process payments on my online store. I know that lots of people nowadays complain about Stripe, but it worked perfectly for me. Unfortunately, it’s not a solution for me anymore. Because I mostly have customers who order again from me, I decided to accept bank transfers. I used Payoneer, Revolut, Wise, and Clear Junction. All of them worked for some time until they became very strict regarding transactions. They literally want proof for everything, which generates lots of paperwork. It was funny when they asked me to do so many pictures of myself with ID. I am glad that they didn’t want my selfie with my dog. Anyway, Revolut was the best for processing domestic UK payments. However, sometimes it declines payments from customers and returns them back. I don’t know why. I lost sale because customers was confused about that.

This is why I try to look for new payment methods for my online store. I am based in the UK. Need to process approximately $1000 daily. It’s average because during the weekend pick, I can have $4000.

The main question is what payment method I can implement.

I know that the highest conversion ratio is when I processed card payments, but it’s not the direction that I want to follow. The conversion ratio was at an acceptable level with bank payments, which I am struggling with anyway.

Are there any other possibilities to process payments? I don’t know, maybe e-wallet, app, or whatever. If this is straightforward, it can be even a gift card. Assuming that I can cash out this gift card easily.

I will highly appreciate any idea that comes to your mind.

I am aware that crypto can solve all my problems, and I will be more than happy to accept crypto, but I am afraid that the conversion ratio will dramatically drop.

Payoneer is more strict. Wise was not bad actually until they started to hold funds for ages and wanted proof of everything. Sometimes they want printed proof of transaction from the customer's bank account, which people are not really happy to provide.

yes heard too about that for payoneer. for stripe i activated radar and the AI disabled my account. stripe team didnt help also and thought my business is a high risk and terminated my account and hold the money and refunded them back to the customers

Exactly, that's the biggest problem. People want to quickly receive what they ordered. You can dispatch goods and then receive a "friendly Stripe email," which states that they refunded all customers. The same thing was with Payoneer payments.

no way even payoneer refunds? thats shit bro. i lost a lot of funds because stripe chose not to cooperate with me and refund all customers.

pay4bit reach me today, trying it but no keep big amount there.

Payoneer is strict you can only send to your other banks or account in your name otherwise may get banned

Have you considered the paypal solution?

How about Stea

Do you have white hat biz or highrisk?

I used PayPal in the past. It was actually not bad until I started being fussy when I processed high volume.

What's Stea?

I am not a registered business but sell completely white hat products.

Anyway, I think it's recognised as high risk due to the high transaction amount and volume.

I don't know what to do now. I wonder if I should even accept a gift card or whatever, as long as it is easy to cash out and there are not tonnes of paperwork. The checkout process needs to be easy for customers to not lose conversions.

There is too much hassle with Payoneer, etc., when they need all the paperwork. I am absolutely fine to supply it and understand they need to do a compliance check, but not for every single transaction.

Given your $1,000-$4,000 range, UK customer base, and repeat customer focus, I think crypto open banking via TrueLayer or BitPay is your best bet:
TrueLayer: Keeps the bank transfer experience your customers love, less manual hassle, and matches your “acceptable” conversion history. Low fees, no selfie nonsense.

BitPay: If you’re interested in crypto, it’s low risk, with automatic conversion to GBP. Very low fees, and future-proof for when crypto becomes popular. Test it out as an add-on.

For laggards, pair it with a fallback like PayPal — it’s familiar and will cover anyone hesitant about a new method.

Have you looked into local payment gateways that specialize in bank transfers in the UK? Might be less hassle than the international options.

Hi,

Yes, I searched for local payment gateways that specialise in bank transfers. I found a few open banking options, and it works well despite the fact that they want tonnes of paperwork and need to have a registered company. I had registered the company in the past, and I had to show even proof of the property rental agreement. Now, I don't have a registered company.

Thank you for the list. I applied for a few of them.

I don't want to use Stripe and PayPal anymore, even stealth. From my experience, it will work for some period of time. Stripe has already held a few thousand pounds of mine.

This is why I look for alternatives. Crypto would solve a problem if people want to pay with crypto. I am afraid that there will be very low conversion.

Do you accept any type of gift cards in your business?

I have two crazy ideas:

1. Why not allow customers to enter card details and then manually charge them by entering these details somewhere, for example, when buying a gift card or whatever, so customers don't even know they are paying for a gift card? Let me explain: somebody purchases something for £100 and enters card details, and then I purchase, for example, a PayPal gift card for £100, entering the payment/card details. What do you think? Is it possible?

2. On checkout, I implement a window, which shows some part of a different webpage where I have to insert payment details. Obviously, I have control over what is shown in this window. How it works ? Customer buys goods for £100 and wants to pay. At the same time, I put in our window details to make payment from a different website to pay £100 for a PayPal/crypto gift card. I display in this window payment details and customer insert details, and he is effectively charged for buying a £100 PayPal/crypto gift card.

What do you think about these ideas?

If it’s too complicated or maybe you have any other ideas, please let me know.

I just don’t want to spend all day wasting time on paperwork, as I did recently.

I am aware that crypto can solve all my problems, and I will be more than happy to accept crypto, but I am afraid that the conversion ratio will dramatically drop.
Crypto should be the way to go. Some SAAS add 5% for payment processing. Some cryto payment gateway allows auto conversion to USDT or other coins.

Could you list some?
Cryptomus: processing fee 1-2%, free auto conversion
NowPayment: processing fee 0.5%, auto conversion fee 0.5%
I think you can deal better fee if your store has a high volume
