Ok so I googled shareasale cause I wanted to log in and accidentally clicked on the shareasale ad which pops up almost every time.

Anyway the display + final link seem to be shareasale.com, yet it opened a long url and instantly redirected.

So from the screenshot it's clear that it's an affiliate link, (......afftrack.....) which doesn't bother me as much because I don't feel qualified enough to promote in the make money online niche anyway. (I'm not saying I would hate the competition, but I'm sure that he must be stealing some commissions/leads with the trademark bid)

Then I did some research and figured he used the advanced URL tracking template in adwords. How can I use this to promote my own affiliate links like that ? So if I find a legit website on shareasale that allows direct linking, how can I advertise my aff link on adwords without violating the display/final URL not mating policy ?

Thank you for reading and I would appreciate any replies

never mind, I think I figured it out . Just paste affiliate link in tracing parameter

From what I can see they may be using Prosper202 to track conversion ;)

Thanks. I looked up prosper202 and yikes, that's over $500 a year. Anyway so does pasting an affiliate link in the advanced options work because when tested it in the campaign it said landing page found with the shareasale link under click url. Yet when I tried clicking on the ad copy it didn't redirect. What does this mean ?

Prosper 202 it's free for self hosted ;) You can rotate LP's,filter traffic by device, city os etc etc.I've used it a lot and it comes with plenty of features.
Regarding your other question,I am not sure if I got it...

Thanks I taught it was $600 a year cause the first link I found for prosper 202 was a sales page. The strange thing though is that a few seconds later it gave me an offer to download it for free, which I did and it seems to have a tonne of codes that I have to look into to get an idea of how they work. My question was about google's ad copy system where it shows the display url, final url and advanced url options. It's really confusing, so I guess I might aswell email google support about it. Thanks again for the replies

Oh.Now I get it.
You can do that when you advertise on google. They allow to have different display url and final destination url.Must be the same domain though.

It's called the tracking template URL.

Basically, you need to enter the affiliate url in the tracking template URL field.

Then specify the the END URL in the Final url field.

Display is the Final URL again.

It's really that simple!

And there are people who claim that the Google doesn't support redirects.
