No, if receive to many reports, instagram only delete the post, becouse is logic....that way if someone want to baned your account for just send bunch of spam comments it was to easy lol
You're right if someone is just trying to mess with you. But if it's real spam, there is a person on Instagram that looks at most of the stuff; and they will make the decision to just delete the post or ban/delete the whole account. Ask around here, it's happened before. So, be careful.
