What is the next big Cryptocurrency?

Yeah I heard about this. THat's pretty scary. To go from $50 to $3. . . But then again BTC dropped from $x,xxx to $200 that same timeframe right? LTC and BTC are tied together, so maybe that's what happened.

Not really. This year BTC has gained a few hundred percent while LTC has gone up a few thousand percent. If both crashed back to their original values, which is still possible, then you stand to lose a hell of a lot more in LTC. I'm not saying LTC is a good or a bad investment, just a lot more risky one.

I don't think you read my post, which is okay.

I read your post. I guess I just wasn't specific enough in my reply. BTC and LTC are not "tied together" in any way other than they are both cryptocurrencies. Yeah they both rise and fell in 2013 and they both spiked this year along with hundreds of other cryptocurrencies. This is indicative of an increase in the entire crypto market, not the success of any specific crypto or one moving in correlation to the other.

No one has mentioned ethereum (ETH) Thats gained a lot since it went live on AB at the beginning of May. Any thoughts?

I think ethereum is going to outperform bitcoin once people get used to the whole blockchain technology, as ethereum provides a platform for developers to design their own Dapps and since Bitcoin is just one Dapp among many possible ones, the use of ethereum will be more frequent than Bitcoin. If I'm mistaken at any point, I would like some explaining because I'm just getting started in blockchain :p ^^

How's that going? :-)

Litecoin forum and dev team all admit that btc is the gold and ltc is the silver. People who are devoted to ltc know that it's tethered to btc. My own superficial observances found that LTC really goes up when BTC goes up and goes down when BTC goes down. There's always that dream that every LTC fan has of LTC finally leaving BTC behind -- but after August 1's BTC success and this upcoming 22nd, LTC's fate is kinda. . . doomed.

I used to be a huge LTC fan for like the whole summer and some of the spring. But it's just one huge circlejerk. LTC never left BTC. LTC never hit 100. The best thing that pumped its price was segwit, and it never really left 40 - 50 range. Now that BTC is going through segwit successfully, no one has any reason to buy LTC. And it's just going to remain that coin that shadows BTC.

Wow no one mentioned Neo yet.

Neo! It's kinda becoming China's official cryptocurrency or something. And we know how rich China is (because the gov takes advantage of its impoverished ppl).

Buy it 1st week of Sept when ICOs start requiring Neo <3

You can buy most cryptos on bittrex. You can't deposit USD on bittrex so you will need to use coinbase or something else to purchase BTC, then transfer them to your BTC wallet on bittrex. From there you can purchase almost any crypto you want with BTC. If you already have BTC in a wallet then you can just transfer some to your bittrex wallet instead of buying more. There is also poloniex and a few brokers for trading cryptos but I haven't used any of them since I live in new york and they don't allow new york residents.
