What is the most effective way to do 301 redirect?

Hi guys,
I have 2 years old site on a niche, it has around 30 -45 posts. What is the best way to change domain name?

Should i copy paste the acticles from old site to new site and do 301 redirect page by page?

Or just do 301 redirect to landing page? And should i use google's Change of Address Tool?

First off, it's prob best you keep that domain as it is and then use it for links or traffic

BUT if you are heart set on merging it to another domain, yes use change of address first, then either manually make the 301's or have rankmath/whatever plugin handle them

I would suggest exporting all the existing posts, importing to the new site, then enabling auto 301 redirect, where it takes the url and finds the best url to match it with, that way you don't have to do any manual work

but again I have to ask why you are doing this in the first place?

even with expired domains or old pbn/sites I keep them going forever and utilize their DA or traffic for new purposes without scrapping the domain entirely

Because i don't like old domain name, its a very long domain name and not related to niche.
And I had build some initial links and written articles there.

So if i start site with new domain i have to do link building again, write article on same topic,

The purpose of a 301 redirect is to move from one URL > to another.

Oldsite.com ---> Newsite.com
Oldsite.com/page1 --> newsite.com/page1

you have to do page level redirects, category level redirects, home page redirect.

Just make sure the redirect is justified. My advice is only valid if you are rebranding on a fresh domain. If you are trying to game the system with an old domain then how you do this will change, depending on how you are using the domain. If that is the case, then provide more details. Otherwise, for a fresh domain you are just move the site to a new URL. This strategy is 100% whitehat, a new company name (rebranding). Nothing wrong with it. This is why 301s exist.
