SEO changes constantly, and some methods that worked years ago are no longer effective.
What is one tactic you stopped using because it no longer delivered results?

I discontinued using mass submission to directories becuz while this helped build link quickly before, I now believe that relevance nd authority are far more imprtant than this.

I stopped focusing too much on keyword stuffing. Now I focus more on making content useful and naturally covering the topic.

Hi, I stopped relying on excessive keywords stuffing. It once helped pages rank, but search engines became smarter. Today I focus more on helpful content, user intent, high authority quality backlinks, and genuine engagement instead for better results.

i stopped making blogs on people ask question because AI is now responding to that and i havent been seeing any results from them again

I no longer see the effectiveness of trying to add too many keywords to a single post to generate traffic, as I used to.

One tactic I've mostly stopped using is mass-produced, low-quality guest posts just for backlinks. The volume might look impressive, but the long-term value is weak.

Now I'd rather focus on fewer, relevant editorial links from sites with real audiences

I used to rely solely on guest posts for link building, but I stopped using them because I found them ineffective.

I have ceased making an attempt to precisely use keyword . currently, I focus more on intent nd answering search queries.

I stopped relying heavily on exact match anchor text It can still have a place but overusing it creates an unnatural link profile

I prefer more varied anchors with relevant contextual links now

I completely stopped using mass Web 2.0 blogs. Back in the day, you could spin an article, post it across 50 free blog platforms, and watch your rankings climb.

These days Google just ignores those links or deindexes the pages almost instantly. I shifted all that time and budget into building better quality PBNs and securing real guest posts. It takes more effort, but the links actually stick and push rankings safely.

I Stopped relying on exact-match anchor text as heavily as I used to, These days, I Prefer a more natural mix and focus more on relevance and the quality of the linking page.

I stopped spending too much time checking rankings every day small ranking changes don’t always mean something is wrong.

I stopped relying heavily on back-links. Long term they’re not as effective as on-page SEO.

I stopped using exact-match keywords too much. Natural keyword placement works better for me.

I completely stopped writing massive 5,000-word guides just to outperform competitors on word count. Cold outreach site owners are tired of fluffy articles that just repeat existing content without adding new value. Search engines now reward direct answers and original insight over pure word volume. Focusing on concise content that directly solves search intent has delivered much better results.

Yeah same here. If your content is good enough, keyword stuffing does not affect the SEO needle.

Most of the people have stopped using bulk directory submissions which were done through automated software. If your niche is a local targeting website then you can concentrate on good local business directories, which still give good exposure as well as backlinks.

i would say that it was submitting directories on mass scale. it was something that used to be very effective to get backlinks but now the time spent does not pay off.now i would prefer getting several relevant backllinks instead of hundreds of irrelevant ones.
