Keyphrase density is the number of times your focus keyphrase occurs in your copy, compared to the total text of that page. So if you have a text that is 100 words and 5 of those are your focus keyphrase, your keyphrase density is 5%.

The number of times a keyword-phrase is repeated on a page as a percentage of its total word count. Keyword density differs from page to page, phrase to phrase.

As per my experienced and understanding, Keyword density is the percentage calculated based on the number of times a keyword occurs inside the content of webpage divided by the total word count.

Keyword density is simply the frequency the word occurs given as a percentage of the total number of words.

Keyword density tells you how often a search term appears in a text in relation to the total number of words it contains.
in simple words, it is the count of your focused key phrase in all over the blog. in now a days google allows near about 2% keyword density per 1000 words, but it's not a hard rule. Just try to write naturally.

Its an outdated concept that have potential to backfire and attract content spam penalties from Google. Learn about creating content to meet KW intent instead and create as many content pieces as possible within the same niche/sub nice, you'll have far more chances of success that wasting time in learning KW density, implementing and realising that it doesn't work anymore.
