Hey guys and girls I have been looking social icons a lot and have seen a lot of these designs where when you scroll over them a colour slides over them. I would really like to know how these are being done.

They usually come built in with certain themes. If not, you can download WP plugins such as Shareaholic.

There are just icons animated on hover with CSS. Tons of them out there (free & paid) - kw: "animated social icons"

What the above two just mentioned. You could purchase something over at codecanyon, or hire a freelancer to help install the correct coding since you'll need to upload an additional css file to your domain servers.

Thanks for the links and kw's on the case now and found a few I think will be suitable and if not I'll just tweak them. Will deffo have to learn to do this myself as CSS is a skill I have but animating with CSS isn't at least not yet. I suppose that is what starting on content management systems will do being most is done for you.
