google are known to kill off projects that are failing.

WordPress is the better choice if you’re serious about blogging. It gives you way more control, plugins, and room to grow compared to Blogger. Blogger still works, but it’s pretty limited and outdated now.

Both blogger and wordpress have their own advantages. If you're just starting out and want something simple and free, blogger is a good option.
