SEO changes constantly, and advice that worked years ago does not always hold up today.

Is there a recommendation or best practice you used to follow religiously but later realized wasn't that important?

It would be interesting to hear what changed your perspective.

That's a good mindset. SEO definitely rewards people who keep learning and adapting. Please tell me one thing, what sources do you trust on most to stay updated with new SEO trends and changes?

One thing I followed religiously early on was obsessing over exact keyword density, like literally counting how many times a keyword appeared per 100 words.
What changed my perspective was seeing pages with zero deliberate keyword stuffing outrank my carefully optimized content just because they covered the topic more naturally. After that I stopped counting and just focused on writing content that actually answered what user was searching for

I can also related to that. A lot of us probably spent too much time worrying about keyword density in the beginning.
