What free WordPress Theme would you recommend?

Now I use Neve theme works better for me, have my title +tagline align with menu, but no logo, I let it so, I be tired of customize header with logo setup so I use no logo. Will then upload an icon which will show up in the serps as a logo alternative.

Blocksy is very good (has a lot of features) in free version.
Kadence and GeneratePress (this one is really fast) are decent too, but lack couple useful features compared to Blocksy.
 
Zakra is a good themes yes ! Block themes I not understand and not be able to use them (I be to old for this....)
Nope, now I tried Zakra it not shows category page description, what the hell is happened with that wordpress cms ?

Not Astra please.....
The yuki magazine theme works great too with showing category page descriptions !
And with the Rank Math seo plugin you can easy add html to format your category description.
A big plus with Rank Math seo (free ) plugin is you can set sitemap url to max. 50.000

Google not index sitemaps with more than 50.000 urls (in one sitemap) for that you need multiple sitemaps.

I will always recommend Astra as is a lightweight and highly customizable theme that works well for a wide range of website

i mostly use Generatepress and astra
 
Agree with all you Generate Press users but damn, they made it so extra and complicated its kind of infuriating that such an easy-to-use theme is like this now.

Sadly, it seems like any product goes through this progression. Product starts off simple and clean, then in order to generate more sales or justify charging more, you have to add more stuff. Then product B comes along and goes back to the "roots" of where product A started, and rinse and repeat.

Yeah that’s true, I still have GP premium but was ranking and using it just fine years ago. Now I dread it and hire people to develop my sites.
 
Use lightweight themes, which would be good for Fast indexing as well

GeneratePress, Astra, OceanWP
 
I would recommend the Astra theme. It's a fast, lightweight theme with lots of customization options and pre-built templates. It also has excellent support and is free to use.
