Generatepress + Vitathemes. Both offer great themes for free, and if more is needed GP Premium got it all.

Most wp themes who come with an child theme I get errors when I try to customize the child theme.
Better use a theme without have a child, then install a chil dtheme plugin ius for me the better more functional way.
Is there not a cms like Squarespace who is more flexible in on page seo and who is cheaper than Squarespace motnhlyx $25- 30 ?

For free theme with more customizing option my first preference is Kadence. And then Astra and Neve.
But if you don't want more customizing, a simple plain blogging theme then Blocksy is great.
Generate press is also good and fastest theme but it has very less customizing option in free version.

Honestly I paid thousands for all my templates. These days I start with something from their free library. Type in your website style, pick something you like. You can always change later when you reach a traffic milestone.

I try Astra Theme free with customize header to get inline; logo+ title +tagline = no luck it looks weird.
Many magazine themes showing my category description on front end in a silly wired way look at screenshot below:
I don't know what this is can not disable it in wp.
Second screenshot you see my astra theme header setup Logo in topbar, menu below, logo is showing up, but without title + tagline , for both in customize settings inline and show title+tagline is enabled. What the hell is this today in wp ?
