What does Google consider a local search? I was keyword researching, and I came across a keyword that had 1300 Global but only 91 local, with medium competition. I don't know if the low amount of local search is good or bad (this ofc depends on my market as well, but I don't know how to define "local"). Can anyone go into some detail on this? Thanks in advance.

    A local search is either
    1. a generic keyword + the location attribute
    2. Adwords only - a search made from your current location (can be tracked by IPs+Cookies). For ex, if you live in France, Paris. and search Google.fr for "pizza locale", you will get local Paris pizza results.

Yes, as stated above, the local attribute applied to the search term. Another example being " Apartment buildings in Toronto, Ontario".

Edit: It's early, I misunderstood the question. BassTrackerBoats is correct.

BTB is correct, but it is more complicated than that.

The keyword is for the number of monthly nationwide searches in the country selected in the tool.

    So:
"Carpet cleaning services" with 91 total nationwide searches is bad.

"Boston carpet cleaning services" with 91 total nationwide searches is fabulous.

Global means a Ball, you can say gobal searches are the searches from all over the world and local searches means searches from a specific area from your local country.

So Global = All world and Local = Specific region (country)
