    Hello everyone,

Today i am going to share something about my own experiment ..I was doing SEO for one of my affiliate website for the SERP ranking..Till now i never ever used any black hat methods..cause i was happy with white hat it's not like that i don't know black hat methods..but it was enough..Then the recent penguin update some days ago..and what i got with that was a boost in the ranking but many other said that they lost their ranking..but what i think is if you do normal seo and don't do anything freaky , you are good in the eye of Google.and another things is do limited SEO not anything over optimization...What do you think ?

I agree with you, to be honest, Anything TOO blackhat and you are screwed, anything LESS and it seems sites have been okay, depending on a SERIOUSLY large amount of on page and off page factors like link diversity, percentage of anchors etc etc.. its all just a bit of a headache at the moment, For one I have studied why some domains have failed and others have not and I think its an important factor to read the bounce rate of your site, also monitoring some social factors in too like actual shares and social signals on the site! There are so many factors that you may have or may have not included to rank your site, its just trying to remember them. My SEO Main site (non emd, PMD) has gone from page 1 rank 1 to page 10 in google uk serps, I have not added or removed any content from it, the week after the slap it went to page 1 position 10, my competitor who basically has exactly the same linking pattern, is sitting proudly at number 1, I am still yet to analyze why the hell I got slapped and he didnt, taking lots of info from his website, I still cannot figure out why google has seemed to have slapped me and not them... HEY HO,

I think there is no such thing as white hat seo or black hat seo.

As soon as you build a single link, you violate googles guidelines = its all black hat

Recent quotes from people involved with Google seem to suggest that they were surprised by how many people got taken out by the slap, which suggests to me that they weren't 100% sure what they were doing. If they're not sure then how are we supposed to know what will get us a better ranking and what will get us slapped? At least some part of this is either pure luck or so hard to figure out that it might as well be luck. The overall message seems to be "try to make your SEO as natural as possible". Oh, and hope you don't fall foul of some part of the update.

yea right, even Matt Cutts makes difference and you think it's all the same!

so by your logic it is forbidden to promote your self at all, you can't leave blog comments, or post on forum with your site in signature...

black hat is black hat, white hat is white hat, stick to white hat and no google updates can't affect your sites.

I also had a huge serp jump on some sites after all the updates, I did some black hat on some of them, but it looks like google accepted it, it was not to much...
