What am I doing wrong?

I'm sure you have all seen these post a million times, but trust me, it's for good reason. I'm desperate. I have struggled financially for the duration of my adult life. I've been trying extremely hard to make some extra income to help my family, with absolutely zero success.

About a month ago, I decided to suck it up, and try again. I decided that I was going to take a jab at an amazon affiliate site. I researched a niche keyword, built a site around it, and have optimized the SEO to the best of my constantly growing knowledge. I have spent anywhere from 2-10 hours a day working on this. So far, I only have the shit traffic that I bought from fiverr (and no I don't think negative SEO has occured). I'm trying really hard to rank for one of my keywords, and get some organic traffic, with no success. I really don't want to quit, as I feel that my drive to succeed is the best it has ever been, I would just really appreciate some constructive criticism. This is a damn difficult game you all play, and I'm amazed at those that actually succeed. I would be happy to earn $100 a month.

i wonder what you are doing for 2-10 hours a day then. can you elaborate?
i mean if you would use that time to create and build up accounts on social networks that point to your site, then you should get proper traffic and sales even if you can't rank on google yet.
that is just one thing you could do, but if you put 10 hours into that only for a week you should already see a difference.
or if you really want to rank, then use the 2-10 hours to build links and parasites.

also i would get a better affiliate program that pays more as amazon is shit.

A huge amount of time was spent creating product cards from Amazon. That is probably 50% of my work. I have implemented Structured data into my site, created blog pages around other keywords, and posted to a ton of forums. I only have a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and a few others connected to the site. I have spent about $75 on Facebook ads to get followers, but only receive about 5-15 hits today from social traffic.

How many social accounts should I create?

SEO is not easy. I give up on it, but I still make enough money. Try something else, maybe ecommerce. Bot traffic from fiverr will not work.

i'd also add reddit, linkedin to the mix and deppending on the niche maybe also pinterest. another thing, don't just rely on ads, but post something to the accounts. for example memes work great on instagram.
the site is about a month old right? so just give it time and keep creating links and profiles on social networks. additionally you could create your own PBN, but that will require a bit of budget (stay away from public PBN services they are just link farms)

The PBN tactic is an avenue I have not tried yet. I'll have to do some research, as I'm ignorant on the subject.But I'll give it a try. Thank you. I will "keep on keepin on"... When you mention creating profiles on social networks, on what level are talking? Should I be building each profile up to a good amount of followers, or am I just in it for a backlink? I have posted to reddit and imgur a few times. I actually got a front page post on imgur with a product image and link, but nothing real came out of it.

The seed of my niche is lamps, so I thought Pinterest was a great idea, but it seems to be impossible to get any kind of eyes on anything without paying for ads.

if its lamps pinterest seems good, maybe try to post more pictures on the profile and follow other people. you should build up all the accounts at least a bit, because then you will get more traffic additional to the SEO traffic later on.
its good for social signals that google likes. anyways i really would suggest to find a better affiliate trust me, amazon might be easy to convert, but you could make much more on a proper affiliate. however for lamps i have no idea to be honest if there are any better ones haha or just try using adsense instead.

You will need to dedicate many more hours endless sun up to sun down . And I takes alot of money to try things and see if they work. My best advice is to try see results repeat.

Either (1) your make a PBN, which requires a lot of time and experience, or (2) you buy PBN links, and good PBN links are not cheap. Here are my 2 comments:
- SEO takes a lot of time, so if you need money urgently, think twice,
- As you have some types of skills (IT), start by working as an outsourcer on the online outsourcing sites; this is the easiest way to build a cash reserve; you can then spend some of it to build up your site.

What I think you need to do is not spend another penny on anything. You need to fill some holes. Do keyword research using the following free tools that I use myself daily: Google KW Planner, Keyword shitter, Amazon, and Google search. There is a learning curve to using all these tools together to find the good keywords. That's something you will have to learn. I think everyone develops their own way. I have mine, you'll develop yours. Find low volume, low competition product keywords in your niche.

Choose the ones that look like they have the most potential and then fill that hole with a nice unique article / review. I do this a lot. It's nothing new but it does work. Do enough KW research and you will be surprised at what you end up finding. Put the work into this and I guarantee you will start to get organic traffic.

Where are you located at? If your in the US and need money fast... sell door to door, collect info, enter through your link to do the sale's data entry. Pick high cost, high profit, slow moving product and you should be logistically fine (no losing product in time between at the door and sale on Amazon). This works. You can be any company you want now. Go forth and sell.
