Hey guys, this might be a lengthy post so I apologize in advance but I woke up this morning to a very weird Instagram issue. I have over 73,000 followers, I am stating this because it might be relevant. First off, I started using Jarvee last night. I used extremely conservative settings as to not set off any alarms. Anyways, this morning I go to log into my Instagram and it is asking for a Phone Verification code. Problem is, the phone number they have listed is not mine. It's a phone number in China. Of course I think I have been hacked. I go through the whole process of reporting the hack to Instagram, received the automated email and replied back with questions to all their answers.
Throughout the day today as I am waiting for Instagram to get back to me I am trying everything I can think of to get access back to my account. And in no way do I think it's a coincidence that this happens less than 24 hours after starting Jarvee. Anyhow what I discovered was that if I go to a device where I haven't logged into my Instagram before and go through the procedure to try and reset my account both my proper email AND phone number are available options. I select my phone and I get the verification code. Well, right after I enter the verification code it asks me to change my password, which I do and then I get taken to the phone verification screen with that Chinese number. I mean what the hell is going on???
Another weird thing is I never received an email notification overnight that someone logged into my account as I do whenever I log into Instagram. So I am really wondering was I hacked or did Jarvee somehow mess something up? My page is not disabled or blocked. I can log into another account and see it just fine. I just don't have access to it. I don't have a clue where this unauthorized Chinese number came from. It doesn't show up on the list of contact options when I use a new device to try to retrieve my account so I am truly baffled.
I would really love your guys opinions, ideas on what in the world could possibly be going on because I am stumped. It doesn't make logical sense. Thanks in advance and again I apologize for the lengthy post but there was no other way to properly explain this bizarre situation.
