Making you change your mind was never my intention, my initial comment was that I had no issues (and happy with GoDaddy) and I asked if you have contacted support.

You're the who started the 'debate' and now being unhappy with the course it's taking as it's not course you expected it to go. It seems that you are the one who's trying to make me change mine. I get that you're unhappy that I have commented differently on the thread where everyone supposes to say negative things and support you. But not everything in life is black and white, you said yourself. This is a public forum and I follow the same rules as you are, meaning I can express my opinion, even if I dare to disagree with you.

You literally just called 18 million customers idiots and I am the one who is delusional, right.

You STILL can't give me a single reason as to why GoDaddy is the best registrar, you're completely beating around the bush because you don't have a single argument to back you up.

Of course you can express yourself, who said you couldn't? You're still not making any sense at all...

Yes, I am absolutely calling everyone registering a domain with GoDaddy idiots. Again: Why on earth would you pay 3-8 times the price for a domain? Your comparison with car brands doesn't make sense. How can a domain be better when registered at GoDaddy VS another registrar? Does my domain have a better engine on GoDaddy? No... It's a domain?! It's just that, a domain, how can it be better on a different registrar?

Actually, the domain can be better on a different regitrar, like PorkBun, because at least you get free WHOIS protection. There's only arguments against GoDaddy, not the other way around. I'll be waiting for your explanation how GoDaddy is worth 3-8 times the price because they're "Mercedes" of domain registrars (Eh, what?).

Millions of people are pedophiles. Doesn't mean it is right.

Millions of people are hooked on meth and heroin. Doesn't mean it is good for you.

Millions of people still use AOL for dialup. Doesn't make it the best option.

Millions of people are Anti-vax, doesn't mean we should stop vaccinating.

Millions of people are morbidly obese, doesn't make Obesity healthy.

And to answer your question...

I have contacted GoDaddy support myself. 4 times. Every single time the representative was very kind and willing to work with me. They would promise that it was done and that everything was all fixed. 6 hours later I would get an email that the request was denied and that my problem. Wasn't fixed. Then I was gaslighted by multiple employees through the exchanges that aimed that their policies were not the one on the damn website, and claimed I never was promised the fixes that I had screenshots of other reps telling me that I was correct and that I would get the fix.

You still can't come up with one reason why someone should choose registering a domain through GoDaddy vs something like Namesilo who offers the same level of support, but also only charges 8.99 a year with free Whois. What does GoDaddy offer that they other do t that deserved the 3x+ price per year and Whois privacy that you have to pay for.

Just because millions support it doesn't mean anything.

I was actually going to do the same comparison. "Oh hey, millions of people loved Hitler, must be great!" - No...

That's exactly how they roll. They want you to give up because they'll continue to waste your time until you say "fuck this" and just stay with them and their insane prices.

It's like he wants to pay 3-8x the price, for a worse service? It is just not making any sense. "I love paying $40 per Heineken beer bottle from my local 7/11, and another $15 for the bottle cap (that should be included lolmao) instead of a $10 Heineken from another 7/11" - WHY?! How!? The Heineken is the exact same thing from both stores?

Talk about losing any respect I had for this guy after this whole discussion, can't take anything he says seriously anymore.

If you having issues with GoDaddy, it doesn't mean everyone has, move on to another provider you think the best for you.
That's literally what this thread is about: You can't move on to another provider since GoDaddy sends you incorrect authcodes when moving domain, and you know why? Because I bet tons of people are trying to move their domains out of there since they charge 3-8x times the price. Why would you pay that much more for the exact same product? And even at that; worse customer support.

You're still making 0 sense lol.

what I did was I took screenshots of the auth code and then of the message showing that it was not being accepted. That way they’ve got visual proof that there is a problem.

You could also try transferring to another registrar, just in case it’s an issue with the receiving host.

I tried another registrar, and... "We've tried to submit your transfer request(s) to the registry but the authcode of the domain(s) appears to be invalid."

I screenshoted the whole procedure so we'll see what GoDaddy support says, but I have a strong feeling these domains won't ever leave them. Unbelievable.

I can confirm, happened exactly the same to me! Godaddy used to be a decent company in the past, but nowadays it is a pure scam. They do everything to lock you out right before the renewal so you can't remove unwanted overpriced services.

You're going in circles.

I don't need to give you a single reason or provide any argument to back me up.
It's you're the one who needs that.

Read carefully:

Making you change your mind was never my intention

It's you who's trying to make me change mine...why?

You're still not making any sense at all...

So does 18 million users. Of course, we're all delusional idiots:)

Yes, I am absolutely calling everyone registering a domain with GoDaddy idiots.

Right, I would expect that from you.

It actually does, but, why would you listen to an idiot who has a lot of domains and works with them for years?
I'll save you time, just ask if your GF backs your opinion :)

I'll be waiting for your explanation.

:anyway:o_O
Right, sure :D

Talking to you is like talking to a brick wall. You can't answer the question, so I'm just going to assume you're trolling.

Had issues with GoDaddy that you don't eve think that would be an issue. They are the absolute worst. But this is next level shady business. They are pathetic. Playing these stupid games just to keep you on the platform. That really tells you all you need to know.

GoDaddy is terrible.

I don't recall the specifics, but I sold a domain there a while back, only $15. The way their fees work out, you only keep $5 of that - which wasn't clear to me until after I'd accepted the offer. But the way their balance system works, you can't spend or withdraw that $5 because apparently it's not enough. I don't believe I have that $5 at all, it was simply discarded.

Besides their marketplace, I have totally stopped using them. When the 60 days lock expires I'll always transfer out every domain. With networksolution and 1&1 they are the worst registrant out there

There is a problem, I can't log in to my account on GoDaddy, since Google authenticator does not work as it should, what to do in this case and how to pay for your domain?

Then, stop being a brick wall. I know it's hard to accept that someone may think differently.
I shared my opinion, you can agree or disagree, and move on. There is no need to continue this debate and trying to get me to prove you anything, you'll just waste time. I am sorry that this thread was made for whining and I have spoiled it for you.

I do hope that you'll eventually sort out your things one day!

How am I the brick wall? You're so off the wall that I can't even fathom it, do you have some serious mental issues or disabilities? I'm asking seriously, because that would explain a lot of your past threads and discussions with other members, where you also dodge questions because you get called out (like your "$700k" traffic arbitrage thread that got locked because you're "mentoring" and building a list of noob BHW members off the forum :D).

I've asked you 4 times to simply tell me why GoDaddy is a great registrar, and why it's worth paying 3-8 times more for a domain. You can't. "I don't have to explain anything", obviously you don't, but is it that hard to just do it? This is a discussion forum and not just a place for you to sell products to BHW members or build email lists of them.

Imagine if a start an SEO thread with "Backlinks is something you should heavily avoid if you want to rank on Google", and BHW members ask me why that is, and I simply answer with "I don't have to explain anything to you!!", that would tank the quality of this forum real quick as it's a DISCUSSION FORUM.

And no reason to continue the debate? There is no debate because you come with nothing but pure fluff that has 0 substance. Why? Because you have no argument, so all you can say is "I don't need to prove anything!!" like a prepubescent child.

You say GoDaddy is the best registrar and worth the 3-8x higher price - I asked why, and you just duck and dodge instead of just answering the question which would've ended this "debate" a long time ago. I can see that I'm wasting time, because you have nothing to come with. I've come with multiple reasons against GoDaddy, you came with 0 for them... So I clearly won this debate. :D

Whining? The thread was a warning to other members that GoDaddy purposefully sends incorrect authcodes - If you could read, you'd know that already. I honestly think you need professional help, not joking or being "funny" here.

I will personally pay for your first therapy session - Just send me the bill in PM.

Hey everyone,

So I have tried to transfer a domain out from GoDaddy twice now, and each time I get "bad auth code" on the new registrar, even though I have triple checked and it's 100% the correct code that GoDaddy sent me. I also went through this issue 2 years ago and lost a money site domain due to the exact same problem.

I tried to find more information about this and found a community thread on GoDaddy with people experiencing the exact same issue.

https://godaddy.com/community/Domain-Transfers/Authorization-code-for-transfer-is-invalid/m-p/126298

"No, it looks systematic. GD lost its positions as number one registrar. I tried transferring out one of the domain names, just a few days before expiration. Bad auth code. telephone support keeps saying it';s valid, accepting registrar - 'wrong'. Pretty certain, bad codes are being sent for purpose."

There's also a whole sleeve of threads about people not getting their code at all. The dirty tactics GoDaddy play is just baffling to me, how the fuck are they still with ICANN?

Just wanted to warn anyone from using this absolute joke of a registrar, and also wanted to ask if there's any point forming a complaint with ICANN about this?
Well as someone involved in SEO and most importantly domaining for some years now I can tell you that this aint true.. You know where the problem is 99% of the time? The problem some of the people have with copy/paste when GoDaddy is involved..No idea if is because of different regions or what - but sometimes when you copy something from GoDaddy e-mails/website it come up different when you paste it.. Looks the same, but is not. Something with the text encoding I think.

GoDaddy are shitty, expensive service indeed. But they did not "steal" your domains.

note: Edited to be less rude response.

I never said they stole my domains, where did I say that? Quote that if so, because I can't remember saying that even once - I still 100% own them in my GoDaddy account? All I'm saying is that the authode comes up incorrect when trying to transfer it out of there.

I copy paste it into an empty .txt file or browser first, and then copy paste again to the domain registrar to remove any formatting issues. I know what you mean, for example a space can be an invisible character etc. I'm well aware of this, and I've tried it in several different ways each time I did this (including writing it in manually and triple checking that it's correct)

I'm not alone getting "bad authcode", just check GoDaddys own forums. I own well over 50 domains now, and have never ever had this issue with another registrar, that says a lot.

There's a reason they offer $1 domains for the first year, because they won't let you transfer it out of there and then when you go to renew it, you're paying 3-8x the price - They win and make even more money than if they just charged $10/year like any normal registrar.

Keep on whining.

Exactly! They'll definitely be happy with you when you pay x3-8 times the prices for a domain + $15/year for WHOIS protection per year :D:D:D I'm seriously confused by the people in this thread defending GoDaddy, it makes absolutely no sense at all.

When you try to transfer a domain out of GoDaddy to a legit registrar (where the price is $10 for domain renewal + free whois protection) it's a whole different story, clearly.

I was just checking to renew the expired domain I got. It's $24 + $15 for WHOIS = $39, when it would be $10 on PorkBun, and @se900se claims it's like a difference between a Toyota and a Mercedes...

You're absolutely delusional. I clearly won't change my mind when you can't come up with a single reason as to why GoDaddy is better. Your whole argument is "you won't change your mind", what?! I've told you I'd happily change my mind if you can give me ONE reason as to why they're worth the x3-8 times the price. I'm honestly absolutely baffled by this whole argument, are you married to GoDaddy or something? Just one reason is all I'm asking, come on man.

Millions of people agree with you? Yeah, idiots that googled "register domain" and happened to land on GoDaddy, seems like you don't understand SEO at all. I get why you monetize BHW users with quiz plugins :D

Yeah, this "issue" seems to have happened since GoDaddy lost their #1 domain registrar position. Google it and you'll find more info.

He is not gonna agree with you. It's his nature. Better ignore him. Don't waste your precious time.

And Regarding godaddy issue, each and every wise person on this forum and outside will agree that Godaddy is real shit and is looting customers.

It's a fact that no one can deny. Only newbies will fall into their ugly trap.

Haha yeah I can see that from previous threads of his. Gets called out > Dodges questions :D Can't reply to a single question of mine.

:rolleyes::anyway:
Please, no previous, only the future.

Yeah, let's target a misspelling of his instead of what he's actually saying. Again, no substance. Come on dude, gives on 1 reason for GoDaddy being the best. No? Thought so. :D
