If they are trolling you giving you bad codes on purpose, you should troll them too.

My suggestion:
1) Go to LinkedIn
2) Enter GoDaddy into search
3) Go to Godaddy's company's LinkedIn profile, go to the People section
4) Find CEO of GoDaddy (I checked, he is listed there, at least from my profile)
5) Now keep calling the support and say you need to talk to this person because of X reason
6) It will be difficult to reach him but you should be able to get him on the phone at some point
7) Complain directly to him about what they're doing is unethical and immoral

Problem?

All your points are ‘I’m unhappy’, and you support it with similar claims and you come to BHW which has nothing to do with GoDaddy to tel us how unhappy you are and looking for supporting comments. Of course you’re not happy that you didn’t get 100% support and the guy like me says he’s actually okay with it. That’s some serious ‘ego’ issues. Among millions of customers there will always be some customers who are unhappy about something, in every business.

You ask me if I’m being serious - I ask you the same question - are you seriously saying godaddy got that big because they scammed everyone? The question is rhetorical, I know what you’ll answer.

It is harder to get positive review but very easy to get a negative. That’s how human psychology works, I wouldn’t take it seriously.

It’s similar to comparing Mac and Windows, iPhone and Android, Toyota and Mercedes. You will always hear the windows/android/Toyota is better because it’s cheaper, some other reasons etc, but it’s just a matter of choice.

If a mod prefers old Toyota that doesn’t mean Toyota is actually better for you, nor being a mod make his opinion more authoritative then yours.

As you pointed out in the other thread - nothing is black or white, but for me it’s on the white-ish side, and I am happy to pay extra for that. The support was always good for me, I get a lot of perks, and at least as of now I have nothing to complain about. I do use porkbun for my business things, but for personal it’s godaddy.

Saying what’s on my mind doesn’t make troll, I obey the same forum rules as you do.

I'm willing to change my views if you answer these questions: What are you paying for going with GoDaddy over someone else? And if GoDaddy isn't threatened, why are they providing incorrect auth codes? I've tried 4 times now with 2 different domain registrars, still the same issue.

If you read this thread most people agree with me. There is no basic difference between domain registrars - You own one or you don't, so literally the only factor they have to differentiate themselves as domain providers is price or customer service. Please explain how GoDaddy is superior? And please explain how car makers are comparable to domain registrars? GoDaddy is far from a "Mercedes Benz" of domain registrars.

No problem, but I shouldn't have to contact a CEO of a domain registrar to transfer a domain. Should be a pretty simple procedure, no? :D

They agree with you, so what? Does it make you right? It doesn’t, you just wanted to support your ego. It felt good until you got someone with a different opinion. There is no need to defend it, this is not your territory, but a public thread. We all do that sometime, don’t feel bad about it.

This thread is for those who have issues with GoDaddy, hence you getting support. There are so many people in the world you can get support group literally for everything.

Few people that had bad experience can’t overweight millions that are happy, or at least okay. If majority weren’t happy company like godaddy would go bankrupt or it least would have a bigger issues. I’m surprised you don’t get that.

I can’t address your issues, you should be asking godaddy support not, me.

The fact that someone has cheaper stuff doesn’t mean it’s always better. Food and housing is cheaper in India vs USA, it doesn’t mean that Mumbai is better then NY, it’s just cheaper.

The comparison I gave above is to show that this is a matter of a choice, one will always justify why his choice is better.

You're still not answering any of my questions: What are the benefits with GoDaddy?

"I can’t address your issues, you should be asking godaddy support not, me." - I tried, which you would know if you read the entire thread.

I didn't read the entire thread. I don't need to read comments or ask for GF's opinion to make a decision. I am also fine if there are other opinions that not necessarily agree with mine. I am sure that none of the things that I count as benefits with GoDaddy won't prove anything to you. You're not getting the point and getting defensive over nothing - I am not trying to prove GoDaddy is the best, I am saying it works fine for me and I never had any issues. It is you who is trying to prove me wrong.

GoDaddy is a terrible registar. They charge 2-3 times as much for the same domains. They charge for Whois privacy and don't really offer any other benefits. I signed up stupidly for their auction membership because a domain I wanted was through them. They ended up losing the domain and it ended up elsewhere on a different auction site. I was within the 48 hour return policy period. I think between the memberships they force you to sign up for and the credits to place backorders, it was like 30+ dollars. I quoted the return policy to the support staff. They out in a return request and it was denied till the third time, finally I got a slightly higher up person to approve it and they only approved half. In the end, I disputed through PayPal. Showed the screenshots where the staff said I should qualify for a full refund, and the. Later when they lied and tried to say that they couldn't refund me because it was past 48 hours, even though I had submitted 3 requests within the time period. PayPal got my money back in a couple days. I will never go with go Daddy for anything again. They are a shit company, full of liars and thieves.

Almost any other registrar will offer you tons of bouses like free and whois privacy or ssl. charge you half the price, and provide quick phone or chat customer support.

Seriously. Fuck GoDaddy. They can go to hell.

I know you guys like arguing but it's worth noting that if you use BadDaddy for domains you can get much better pricing by joining their Discount Domain Club. No idea if it changes the prices of renewals but it lowers it for new domains.

Right! I respect your opinion, but I think differently. Of course, you can quote me and tell about your experience, and I feel sorry for you, but it doesn't change my opinion. It will definitely change if I would experience any issues, however, it's not the case right now.

You're still not giving a single reason to why GoDaddy would be a good domain registrar? What the hell is going on here? All you're saying is that no one will agree with you...

I've been dealing with GoDaddy since 2004 (domains and hosting). I've had zero issues with respect to shadiness. I've had annoying technical issues that ultimately were resolved through tech support.

Glad to hear it, but have you have ever tried to transfer a domain out of GoDaddy?

These guys have had good experiences with GoDaddy because they have stayed with GoDaddy. Go Daddy will treat you nice and work with you while they have your money, your websites, etc by the balls. As soon as you try to send your money or domain elsewhere they throw a tantrum and refuse to help you. If you stay with them, you just blindly throw your money down the drain in happiness with warm fuzzy feelings.

Imagine being the guy earlier with 12 domains with them that's like $120 a year just for Whois privacy. Then another $250+ for the domains. What a joke.

I don't need to prove anything - no matter what I'll tell you, it wouldn't be compelling of sufficient. It would be unwise of me to waste time like that. Millions of GoDaddy users agree with me, even of none would, I don't need BHW thread for that or mod comment to agree with me to feel good about my opinion.

Exactly! They'll definitely be happy with you when you pay x3-8 times the prices for a domain + $15/year for WHOIS protection per year :D:D:D I'm seriously confused by the people in this thread defending GoDaddy, it makes absolutely no sense at all.

When you try to transfer a domain out of GoDaddy to a legit registrar (where the price is $10 for domain renewal + free whois protection) it's a whole different story, clearly.

I was just checking to renew the expired domain I got. It's $24 + $15 for WHOIS = $39, when it would be $10 on PorkBun, and @se900se claims it's like a difference between a Toyota and a Mercedes...

You're absolutely delusional. I clearly won't change my mind when you can't come up with a single reason as to why GoDaddy is better. Your whole argument is "you won't change your mind", what?! I've told you I'd happily change my mind if you can give me ONE reason as to why they're worth the x3-8 times the price. I'm honestly absolutely baffled by this whole argument, are you married to GoDaddy or something? Just one reason is all I'm asking, come on man.

Millions of people agree with you? Yeah, idiots that googled "register domain" and happened to land on GoDaddy, seems like you don't understand SEO at all. I get why you monetize BHW users with quiz plugins :D

I have, but not recently.
Yeah, this "issue" seems to have happened since GoDaddy lost their #1 domain registrar position. Google it and you'll find more info.

Making you change your mind was never my intention, my initial comment was that I had no issues (and happy with GoDaddy) and I asked if you have contacted support.

You're the who started the 'debate' and now being unhappy with the course it's taking as it's not course you expected it to go. It seems that you are the one who's trying to make me change mine. I get that you're unhappy that I have commented differently on the thread where everyone supposes to say negative things and support you. But not everything in life is black and white, you said yourself. This is a public forum and I follow the same rules as you are, meaning I can express my opinion, even if I dare to disagree with you.

You literally just called 18 million customers idiots and I am the one who is delusional, right.

Millions of people are pedophiles. Doesn't mean it is right.

Millions of people are hooked on meth and heroin. Doesn't mean it is good for you.

Millions of people still use AOL for dialup. Doesn't make it the best option.

Millions of people are Anti-vax, doesn't mean we should stop vaccinating.

Millions of people are morbidly obese, doesn't make Obesity healthy.

And to answer your question...

I have contacted GoDaddy support myself. 4 times. Every single time the representative was very kind and willing to work with me. They would promise that it was done and that everything was all fixed. 6 hours later I would get an email that the request was denied and that my problem. Wasn't fixed. Then I was gaslighted by multiple employees through the exchanges that aimed that their policies were not the one on the damn website, and claimed I never was promised the fixes that I had screenshots of other reps telling me that I was correct and that I would get the fix.

You still can't come up with one reason why someone should choose registering a domain through GoDaddy vs something like Namesilo who offers the same level of support, but also only charges 8.99 a year with free Whois. What does GoDaddy offer that they other do t that deserved the 3x+ price per year and Whois privacy that you have to pay for.

Just because millions support it doesn't mean anything.

Those are silly comparisons, but, you got my point right, there is no need to generalize and prove your opinion over others, at least not in this particular case. If everyone is unhappy the company would close, right now you seem to be a minority.

If you having issues with GoDaddy, it doesn't mean everyone has, move on to another provider you think the best for you.

And to answer your question...

I didn't ask you any questions, but it's flattering that you want to spend your time to prove something to me.
$8.99 is not even the best price, PorkBun has them for $5.90 and you can use multiple domains per user.
Still, I am fine with GoDaddy, there is no need to prove me anything, at least right now I don't plan on moving anywhere.
