Truth is they are expensive as they're a typical newbie trap for newbies that don't know about better/cheaper registrars out there. But not gonna lie, I transferred domains out of GD and other registrars a few times every month for the past six months and got all correct auth codes and they were the smoothest transfers out of all of them. Plus they even let me expedite them and they got transferred in minutes, way before the 5 day wait time. Something even namecheap won't do. Hopefully OP got it sorted out though.
