Want to start using wordpress, need help picking a good host

I agree.. they've gotten too big and have lost the good solid support they used to have. They just rush you through now and try to upsell...
 
Ive been on internet marketing more than 8 years. theres a lot of company offering affordable hosting package. but, not all of them is very good. ive been use a lot of hosting package from different company, and as for last few years i would say, hawkhost and bigscoots offer the best service. their support is very responsive thats my main priority. their uptime also very good. Try them.

I use WP Engine for most of my Wordpress money sites. I also have WP installs on Hostgator, GoDaddy, THC Servers, and Arvixe. For cheap hosting I recommend Arvixe. I've never had any issues and they are fast. Arvixe's basic shared hosting is faster the GoDaddy's special WP hosting, at least thats been my experience.

Hostgator is my host now, I was with Hostwinds however they are SHOCKING they are on this forum avoid them have pictures to prove.
