VPS(customa DNS and IP adresses) questions?

Guys, I need info about VPS related with PBN hosting. Majority of posts I have read are talking about shared hosting is the best solution for PBN. I have noticed some posting about VPS hosting, but there is not enough info about it.
So my question is is anybody know more about it? What is the process for setup and maintaining it?
Does VPS host leave footprints?
