Very old school but......

Any good reading on using old classified ads in newspapers? Curious as I see a few electricians hit a 3 line ad up in my local. I also see a North Jersey electrician whom deals in generators saturating the color ads down my area of the state cause of the storms last month.

Figure I would ask here.

I use the USA Today and the Wall Street Journal for some of my offline businesses and they can get a lot of eyes on them.

The response rate is not huge but the ticket items are fairly high so it pays off well.

I used to use those free papers they throw on your lawn for a service business I have a piece of and the return on them is very good as the cost is like 20.00 a week.

I had success before with promoting local businesses in local newspapers.

I think there are many factors that determine if you will succeed with it or not.
The ads need to be appealing, the readers of the newspaper need to be as targeted as possible, etc etc
