US shared hosting vs EU VPS?

Hi,

I have a 2-core 4GB VPS located in EU (NL) which I am currently not using, it's SSD and on a fast and reliable provider.

I want to start an Adsense Wordpress blog which targets only US visitors. What is the better option here?
Go for a US based shared hosting or host my site locally on my VPS?

I know that speed makes a difference in SEO, but I am not sure what my better option is here...
