Hey guys,
I have only used 2GB of 600GB disk space of my SSD. The server has 16GB RAM, and unlimited bandwidth as an unmanaged Linux Ubuntu VPS.

What I sell are digital products and services on one website. How can I use this server to its full potential? I mean some autopilot shit that earns money on the side. Please don't ask me to go mine shitcoin monero and bs.

why did you get such a server then in the first place if you just want to host 1 site on it :D
how about downgrading? otherwise you can use it for storage for yourself, setup more websites, or use it as database server for other smaller servers.

If there was some magic computer program that you would run on cheap servers and it consistently minted money for you on autopilot, everybody would be owning datacenters by now.

You have simply over-provisioned hardware you don't need. Either downscale to save money or start another website on this hardware. It will not be autopilot tho.

Servers are too cheap to be honest. If there was one software that could run autopilot, which is publicly available, everybody would be doing the same.

There is no premade software that are there you could use and make some money as far as I know.

At this point, better option would be to downgrade. Or to make a plan, get a custom software which automates some work for you.

Okay so I used to run an autoblog site on it until the experiment became a failed journey. Then it consumed up to 97GB but now I dumped/deleted the site as it took approx. 7 months old without expected results.. On top of that, some Google update tanked it into oblivion overnight. Besides, I couldn’t waste time and energy on the project any further.

So yeah anyone with a better idea could come up with some suggestions only as I don’t want to downgrade the server. It’s really really cheap $139 per year.

May I know who your hosting provider is :D

You have unlimited bandwidth and half a terabyte of storage. This is great for download heavy workloads. Some ideas I can think of:

- start a small "asset" download website: Things like wallpapers,3d assets, documents etc. There's a lot of public domain/CC-BY-NA assets you don't need to worry about copyright for and that you can curate in one place on a website. You can show people ads/do CPA when they download it.
- Cons: Competition is high so you need to niche down.

- private course forum/website: pirate courses and set up a encrypted download script on your server. Then start a paid private community on discord or telegram and then tell people to download with your script.
- cons: copyrighted content, can't have your site open to the public internet or put on Google search to get seo traffic. You've to figure out marketing yourself.

- Private paid Jellyfin/Plex server: similar to above. If you know people who like to watch movies but don't want to pay $20 to Netflix/Hulu every month, you can just rip movies from torrents, host a media server with it and then ask people to pay you like 2$/mon instead of $20 for a small but well-curated library of content.

I do something like this for the boys at a local uni. They're porn freaks :D, watch a lot but dunno where to since most adult websites are banned here by the government.

I've ripped 2tb worth of it :p and hosted on a cheap storage box with this oss software. I even have a form where they can request scenes. About 100 students pay me $2/mon. They pay with crypto. All communication over telegram. They don't know me, I don't know them. Very discreet business :D
Hosting is about $300/yr. I make some decent passive money with this :D

It's important to be flexible with buying/renting and selling things,
If you don't need something just sell/replace it,
You can migrate to a smaller VPS in 15 minutes,
You don't need to make some project strictly based on what you got, get what you need for a well planned project instead is much wiser

well a good way to reduce your per month spending is to switch to a reliable shared host, if you do not have any custom needs, and your website runs fine and within the resources then I think switching to shared hosting will save you some good money and if your needs increase, you can again migrate it back to a VPS or dedicated at any time.

Such a terrible idea IMO. It's like going from grace to grass. But no, thanks.
